Baby size/people's comments rant

Ok so I am getting seriously tired of people asking me if I think I will be able to birth this big baby....hello no one actually knows how big he is until he is born.

Especially my boss. She makes annoying passive aggressive comments to me anyway...like acting concerned because my face looked fatter and if I was toxemic :

The other day she called to check up on me and sounded very concerned about the baby's weight and him staying in longer and getting bigger. I assured her I trusted my body to make a child that I can birth.

I am also getting it from family members too...it is annoying.

Yeah, I'm huge! I look like I'm carrying twins, and have gotten that question! You know it's not like I'm not aware of how big I am, or that I have big babies, etc... I don't need anyone, or some stranger pointing it out!!! How rude!
I'm not a large woman, and I've been able to birth a 10#14oz baby. I don't think this baby is going to be quite as big though. I also don't want to HAVE to explain "I have big babies, I am short waisted, so I stick all out there, This is just how I carry my babies, etc..."
I'm just hiding in my home till I give birth!

17 days till EDD

my mom looked just like your pics when she was pg with me and I was 8'8. Ppl do not know what they're talking about. Even if it is an 11 lbs baby- I still consider that NORMAL and healthy and I'd still be sure your body could do it!

Bingo! You hit it on the head, people don't know jack, especially these days when the only images people have of pregnancy and childbirth are unrealistic media portrayals.

I hate people asking me questions, someone asked me the other day was I having twins. : It was a dumb question, yes my belly is big but I have not had a large weight gain or anything. I suspect, I have a nice healthy size baby baking, yet people wanna make it more than that.

I just wish all the armchair OB's would shut up.

Hugs to you, mama. This is happening to me, too and it is sooo frustrating! I've also felt the urge to just stay home so that none of DP's coworkers make any more comments to him about how huge I'm getting, and if it's twins...

The funny thing? With dd, people said the same comments to me, and I was NOwhere near as big in the belly as this one. She was only 8.5 pounds. Armchair OBs, for sure!

Why can't people just say, "Wow! You look great!" or "How are you feeling?" instead of their guesstimates... Sigh. I feel you.

People always assume this baby is HUGE since I have such a huge belly - but after two US to rule out twins, I just point to the moving grooving baby jumping around in there and point out that he can't be that crowded if he's still breakdancing at 41 weeks! When my water breaks I expect Niagra proportions!
