Thinking of you Organicbanana and naturalbeauty!
Go go go -- OrganicBanana and Natural Beauty! I can't wait to hear about your beautiful babies! I concur that it is a little ... well, sad isn't the word, but bittersweet that the last of our June mamas are birthing ....

Things are good here. We've been blessed with a number of meals too -- it all seems very midwestern to me (in a nice way)! When ds #1 was born we lived in NJ and although we got our share of visitors it was such an ordeal for most people to get there (going through the tunnels and/or taking public transportation) that I don't think anyone even considered bringing us food! Am holding off on the debut trip to the supermarket with two kids-- I can't even imagine it at present.

Good luck with mom, Pepper -- I've been glad to have the help too although I do miss my "space."

Melissa, do you have grocery delivery service near you? I loooooove my Peapod service.

Pepper, good luck with your mom...it's inlaw weekend here, I'm already stressed out over it.

Have any of you guys experienced a total & utter lack of appetite? I have to force myself to eat every day, because I don't want to screw with milk production, but I seriously have had zero appetite since he was born. my body burning off the fat reserves, maybe? :

nope. i've been an eating machine. i'm loving food and am eating a lot. and the best part?

....NO FREAKING HEARTBURN!!!!

dear heartburn,

you sucked in a big way. you woke me up at night and totally interfered with my eating preferences. You were my worst pregnancy symptom by far. So, as Scandal said, "GOODBYE TO YOU!" Don't let the stomach hit you on the way out.

(hey, at least it's an improvement from the letter I wrote to my hemmorhoids, right?! )

he's here!!

This is James, Jamie's dh. Just a quick note to let everyone know that Logan Rayne Garvin is here. He was taken via c-section this morning at 5:15. Both he and Jamie are doing fine. I'll let jamie post a full message when she gets home.

WOW another baby! Its almost over and we will all be mommas! It is kind of sad! Its like watching your baby grow up! Of course those mommas having babies don't think its so sad! :LOL

DH was driving me last night! He complained because there was no bread tie on the bread! OMG put one on it! : WOW hope hes in a better mood tonight!

Well I am taking DS and DD tomorrow for photos! I am getting one of Nolan and one of him and Ali together! I think that will be so cute! I have to get a photo on the wall of him! Its strange that there are no photos anywhere but the fridge of him!

We did the handprint kit with the kids last night! DD got back into the trash and painted her lips with the blue paint! I guess she needs a little finger paint time!

I would like to leave DS alone! I didn't feel pushed by him he did let me decide what to do. He expressed his interest in retracting it but didn't tell me I had to do what he wanted. I would definitly suggest mentioning this to your ped before they get involved in checking them out! I can picture that he may not have asked me if I hadn't brought it up. I may have just heard my son screaming and wondered what had happened!

Well hoping to hear about more births! I will check back soon! Hope all those babies are doing great and getting fat!

good luck to natural beauty and organicB.- it is nice to know that you won't be reading this for a while!
This little one doesn't do the slurp, at the finish, she turns into the little wolf and shakes her head with a vengance, I try again in case it is the grand finale- if it is, her head lays to sleep- if not, I call a burp break and try it again.

mcs, you have a wolf, I have a little chicken
He peck peck pecks before he latches, the peck peck pecks at the end. We call him Mr. Chicken.
:LOL mcs, when elaina does the shaking of the head back and forth really fast, we call it her superroot!

when she does the peckpeckpeck thing, as she does if she's upright against our chest and rooting, we call it woodpeckering

what's amazing is that if she does the superroot right next to my breast she can ofter latch on perfectly without me helping!

Yeah! More babies!!!!

Is anybody wlse out there having as horrendous a time breastfeeding as I am???
Titus just will not latch, his suck is poor even with a shield or just with a finger in his mouth. After some random success things seem to be settling into a pattern: try and latch, fail, use shield, suppliment with tube/sringe and pumped milk (I have TONS).
Yesterday was my day to cry and be in despair over it. Poor dh dealing with an entire crying family, he didn't know who to help first!

We've seen a couple LC's and they were great, really encouraging me to keep trying, which I am, and they say I'm doing everything right and there's nothing wrong with my boobs....
It's just so dissapointing because I can't just whip out a boob to feed like I'd imagined. He's getting plenty of food (after losing 17 oz) and is gaining weight.
Of course I am not giving up yet, it's still early, I just didn't expect it to be so hard.
I keep telling myself that even if he is a bottle-with-breastmilk-only baby, he will still grow happy and strong.
I guess I just kind of feel like a failure sometimes:
Got the epidural I didn't want, can't figure out breastfeeding, and don't get me started on cloth diapers...they seem so tricky!

Today I am coping better though as I got 5 hours of sleep last night!!! The most since his birth.

OK, gotta go.

Congrats Jamie........!!!!

ds does the bob and weave...sniff and root, sniff and root, kinda like a dog with a bone :LOL He will stick his tongue out and taste it to make sure it's really there and then grab and latch pretty much on his own.

Grace, all I can say is, breastfeeding has always been pure torture the first 10-14 days for us. I did all the right things and it still hurt like hell, my nipples had blood blisters, and I was engorged with a screaming nborn in my lap. Milk shooting everywhere and couldn't get it in the babies mouth. One day we would just wake up and one side wouldn't be so bad, and then a couple of days later the other side wouldn't be so bad. It has always taken about 2.5 weeks for my milk supply to settle down so that my boobs were softer. Don't give up if it's what your heart wants............you can do it!!

Grace, I had a really hard time with bfing in the beginning. It has gotten easier, but it's still not as easy as i thought it'd be. Try t get to a LLL meeting if you can, or talk to a friend you trust who has successfully bf'ed. If I didn't have my best friend, I'd have switched to formula the first week. no kidding. Now we're in a growth spurt and it's challenging again. Just when it was starting to feel okay Don't give up, cry when you want to, sleep when you can, and take care of yourself as much as you can. You won't be too excited about bfing or anything else if you haven't had a shower in three days and you smell of brest milk :LOL

Oh, and I'm having some CD issues, too. Again, my Lianne is helping :LOL
