30+ TTC 1 yearish JULY - Page 3

Howdy y'all! I posted way back whenever it was, and then disappeared on y'all -- I'm sorry. I ended up taking a couple of unplanned vacations -- which was very nice, but I'm ready to get my life back to something that looks like normal now.

Adina, wow pretty much sums up what I think when I even contemplate the whole IVF thing. I really hope this works for you!

I will come back more quickly than I did last time and talk more than I did this time, but right now I'm a bit overwhelmed. I saw a new doctor yesterday and got a diagnosis of PCOS (which I expected) and a prescription for Clomid and I'm just really, really unsure how I feel about it all.

Hope all of you are having a lovely day; many hugs, much strength to everyone.

mamabug. I like your siggy line Today is my anniversary so I am extra sappy today. I also have a few angel babies in heaven. I just hope all the mothering baby angels get to hang out and play together knowing they are all loved by so many.

Thank you for you the welcome.

I truly do hope that we all get our hearts desires. I think I may now be in the PCOS category. I want to do more reading on this. I have gained ALOT of weight since having baby #2, I weigh more now then when I was pg, so I really feel this is what is hurting my getting pg,kwim.

Strength to us all

Hi everyone. I haven't written in a while b/c I'm not sure what to say or think about my own TTC experience and I don't know how to share support so well on a bulletin board.

I just need to write to someone (anyone) about how things are going. I don't know who to talk to about this stuff in my life. :

We got dh's semen analysis back. It wasn't good. We know why. He has a chronic illness.

I think I'd feel better if I could talk to other people are TTC and have a partner with a chronic illness. I don't know anyone who has an ill partner.

Our most excellent naturopathic doc who is also an MD says keep holding the course. He doesn't want to test me b/c he thinks I'm ok. He says we can keep trying while dh is being treated.

I told him that I want something to do. He's says right now there's nothing else for us to add to our TTC plan. I've been adding my own things each month to the TTC plan. I planted strawberries and blueberries. I cleaned out the basement. I bought a onesie. I put a korean fertility statue by our futon. Etc, etc.... I'm running out of ideas.

Are any of you in the same boat?

Mamabug. I like your sig too, wonderful sentiment. Sounds like you're in the right place, and the ladies here are all so wonderful, I'm sure you'll love it. Hopefully your stay will be short and sweet and you'll get preggo in no time

About the chronic illness thing... We might have something you may consider a type of chronic illness going on. Brett has sleep apnea. He's had surgery for it and it is hardly even apparent these days. But he still has bad nights. Well, about a decade ago he had a SA (on a dare, which is funny to me). They said his sleep apnea was causing him to be virtually sterile. They also said once the sleep apnea was fixed it *should* return to normal. I managed the whole getting pregnant thing once (didn't stick) but it could have been a fluke. Still trying to get him to go in and get another SA done now that circumstances have changed. All I know is its been a long time of trying and still no baby. :\ Not exactly the same situation but a lame one none the less.

Welcome, Mamabug!!!

Well, I'm going to go try to be productive before the hubby gets home from work... take care, girls. Thinking of you all

Hi Mamabug...

Happy anniversaryK98S02

Ursula Rose: I'm sorry you're dealing with so much...my dh does not have chronic illness but he does (for no apparent reason) manufacture antibodies to his own sperm. They can imper motility and fertilization abilities. I wonder how "not good" your dh's SA was. I hope you will find lots of support here. Maybe there are boards for partners and caregivers of persons with chronic illness, maybe one of those would have a ttc section?

PaganScribe, sorry about the PCOS, I hope the clomid does the trick.

hugs to all

M

I'm so sorry you're sick. I hope you feel better soon. Sending you healing vibes

Ursula Rose, my hubby has AntiSperm Antibodies also. So he's not ill, but has a sperm issue. i don't know of anyone in your specific situation. You're more than welcome to talk about it. Just because we aren't in your exact situation, doesn't mean we can't support you.

Happy Anniversary K98S02! Hope you're feeling better soon.

PaganScribe and mamabug, You'll find lots of support for PCOS around here, there are many dealing with it.

Dx means diagnosis.
Thank you. I have not had a Dx of PCOS but when I go for my next pap I plan to ask about this possibility. See my dh feels, and I mostly agree with him, that since we already have 2 children he does not want to go the meds/intervention route in order to have #3. Hard to accept but understandable, though I am sure there are things I can do that are not as invasive as some of the things I did do for #1. Thanks for the info

Hello all!

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow!!! Every time I meet someone else from here (Johanna, Korin, Adina, ST), I am so amazed to be associated with this group of women! ST was incredible! She is so sweet, kind, and easy to talk to. Her dh had the nicest energy, and was so thoughtful and caring - they are going to make amazing parents!!! Plus, their kids are going to be soooo good-looking - they are a hansome couple!

Thanks for the good comments Korin, ST, and Johanna, they made me feel all warm and mushy - You ladies are the greatest!! I've been in NYC without a computer for a few days, so sorry I haven't kept up . . .

Welcome Mamabug (and welcome back Paganscribe)! You will find this is a very supportive and kind site! And, the women are extremely knowledgeable here.

UrsulaRose - I don't know what advice to give you. Dh had a SA a year ago that was good, but with nearly 3 years of TTC, and other women here dealing with male infertility, we've decided to get a male factor test this month just to make sure. :

Adina - I'm so excited for your IVF!! And, it's great that you have an a/c - 120 is tooo d*** hot! I didn't know that bed rest was part of the regimine - how long will that take?

As for me, CD8. I have a pre-surgery appointment next week, then surgery to remove my polyp on July 22nd. Then, we start back on a 1/2 dose of clomid and IUIs in August. Hope this does the trick!

to everyone else - more personals later after I catch up on the work that gives me money so I can have a roof over my head!

cd 13 & waiting to O

I think eggie is around the corner :LOL
just informed DH that when he's "OFF Duty" tonite.. he's still "ON Duty" when he comes home....

I think I'm just gonna use my Prog. cream this cycle & see if it lengthens my LP - unlike my silly NOW-EX Dr. who seems to think all this is invalid :

Anyhoo, I'm so behind in personals ...

****How about a mini Roll call here to re-visit who's here now?
I'm here!

W4B - Yeah - 5 days of bedrest after transfer...sigh. And it looks like no a/c unit after all. Blah. Oh well. What can you do? I guess I will be warm. :LOL

I'm here!

3DPO. I'm feeling really hopeful this month for the first time in a long time. Our timing was beautiful this month. I met with doc today. He put in the consult for me to get an HSG if I need it next cycle - now we just wait to see it the VA approves the consult. <where's the toe-tapping smilie>
