Filled up an entire trashbag with donatable toys

and then dh helped me completely reorganize all the toys. Everything has a place! I'm just hoping it will stay that way for a bit. The biggest challenge will be getting dd to put things back where they go. Its getting harder and hard for me to bend over and put things away (32 weeks pregnant).

I even went through the newborn clothes and put the girly stuff in a bag to take to consignment. I'll do the same thing with her fall clothes too as they take stuff one season ahead of time.

You go girl!!

You might have to do this again and again and again as time goes by to keep this clean look you strived for and got. I now declutter quarterly and I know it will be hard with a new nursling but worth it!

If it was only one bag you were in pretty good shape to begin with!! Every time I do a deep clean of dd's room I end up with 3 bags of toys to get rid of ( mostly stuffed animals)

Yes, lots of stuffed animals. I keep asking people not to give her stuffed animals, she doesn't play with them.

I so hear you. Besides, they gather dust, germs etc. Usually a child will find one and hold onto that one only and never look back at the others. I also find a lot of stuffed animals going in that bag. I have told people repeatly do not give us stuffed animals.

craigslist

or, you could craigslist them for something that you want.
i just traded an AC that i didnt use, clothes my son had grown out of, a Bob the Builder comforter that he got rid of when he got his Red Sox room, and books in return for all the newborn clothes i need, a Graco swing and a portable swing, and a ton of other things.
it was a great deal for both i think.
as for putting things back, i try to have a system that he has to pick up what he is playing with before he can move on to something else. but, you have to practice what you preach. my sewing is all over the dining room and im on the computer...so i have to go pick up my stuff b/4 i can get back here! lol! it doesnt always work, but does most of the time.
decluttering is great!
