CONGRATS POM! i can't wait to hear the story about baby kate.

and i hope my labor goes as fast as yours (though i doubt that)

well i think this is it...my water broke last night around 3 am. we had just finished..ahem..and i got up to go to the bathroom and had this HUGE gush of fluid. kept leaking for about an hour and everytime i got off the toilet and tried to walk, i started leaking again. i ended up walking around with a towel wadded up against me.

so we called the midwife and she said that i would probably be in labor within 24 hours. she said to try to get some sleep and call in the morning if i don't feel the need to call before then. so after some excited setting up around the house and last minute nesting ( i couldn't have them all here before i cleaned the microwave ), we laid back down. i couldn't sleep untill around 6:30 and i was leaking all night. had some cramps but no major contractions.

so now i'm up. i leaked what i'm guessing was the mucous plug a bit earlier.

wish me luck

OMIGOD Pom!!! How exciting! Sheesh, my internet connection is down one day, and I miss all the good stuff (was just reading about your waters leaking and wondering what happened, lol)!! Congratulations!!!! :

Wait a minute. Weren't we having a competition to see who was going to go longest?!?! Dammit, I was supposed to lose that competition!

Can't wait to hear the story ...

CherryBomb, hope the stretch and sweep provokes the desired response!

Shay, sorry to hear ex is being such a jerk. Seems to me that your 13 yo should get to decide what he wants. Too bad ex won't cooperate. I concur with pp -- he's probably jealous.

Sarah, glad to hear your dh isn't afraid to stand up to his mom. Can make life a whole lot easier ...

Ewe, your birthing way sounds lovely. And your nesting comments reminded me of a dream I had last night. I dreamt that I worked for a university but our offices were in a hotel. So I was in the lobby of the hotel and there was this giant throw rug. It was really dirty, so I got out a vacuum and started vacuuming. And then (in my dream), I wondered if I was starting to nest!! I'm too lazy to nest in real life, but I do it in my dreams!!! Okay, I officially crack myself up :

Actually had a (fairly) decent night's sleep last night, although I completely forgot about my 8:30 interview with a ped this morning (will I get my brain back when this is all over?), and they don't have another opening until next Monday. Oh well.

Getting lots of BH at night for the last two days (previously I only got a few every couple weeks). Got the nursery in a somewhat presentable shape over the weekend, although more work needs to be done. Hope to get to some of that today.

My friend with insulin-dependent GD is being induced on Wed morning, and she was complaining that it's really frustrating to not know if she'll have her baby on Wed or Thur (last time her induction took two days). I felt like slapping her and saying, "How about not knowing if you'll have your baby tomorrow or in FIVE weeks?!?!?!?!" Sigh.

Waiting. Not too impatient yet, but waiting.

hey everyone. i talked to my midwife this morning and from what she gathers, i am in early labor. i feel like it should hurt more than this. i'm sure it will later. i'm really just feeling cramps every 20 minutes or so. still leaking when i get up. i feel like since it's not hurting that it's not really progressing but my whole area is bulging like crazy. anyways, off to try to talk baby into moving the process along

Shay - so sorry to hear yor ex is being a dolt, i hope it all works out.

Cathy - you DO NOT want a labor so fast...it was terrifying.Seriously. Unless you're in a safe happy place like your birth center or home...I'll keep fingers crossed for you! good luck!!!

Nordic - actually, my waters did NOT break! it was just "stuff." weird, huh?

Ewe - 41. WOW! hope the babe comes before your parents...wish I was visiting you in Paris!

Congrats, Pom! And you are still posting here so much! You do need to get a life. (Really, I'm kidding, I am here all the time... it's a little embarrassing. He, he.)

GL, Cathy. I'll be sending over good vibes.
