know I really don't post here often but I do lurk. I just have to say....

I just watched that circ video from the intact.ca website a couple of days ago and OMG!! That was the most horrible thing I've ever seen and heard. It brought tears (lots of tears, actually) to my eyes and I had trouble sleeping that night. I don't think I'll ever forget that baby's screams and shrieks... How that father could just stand there and not do anything is beyond me!! And that doctor....I can't believe how nonchalant he was and how he made it out to be no big deal. I just can't get over the horror of it... I really just wanted to throw up after watching it.

I'm sure that video has been around for awhile and most of you have seen it. What were your reactions after you first watched it?

I haven't even tried to watch it... I've seen pictures and those were graphic enough My friend watched her third ds's circumcision and she was quite traumatised by it so I've heard about it from her... If I tried to watch the video, the odds are good that I also wouldn't make it past 5 seconds

I've watched a couple. I'm a glutton like that. Also, I keep hoping that I will see on of those circ's where the baby is so happy! Guess what? I'm still waiting.

I'd seen other circ videos by the time I watched the intact.ca one. My reaction to that one was that I aught to write a transcript of the dialogue between the dad and the doctor because its quite revealing! Of course, the baby's screaming produced a viceral reaction. To NOT get upset hearing that, you have to be very into "analytical mode". As the owner of a site on circ (see sig), I have to use this mode, or I'd never get anything written! But just as a mom, of course the video is heartbreaking.

I haven't had the guts to watch any of the videos. When I see all of this, I am so thankful for my dh who, before I had even given any thought to it, said "why in the world would we ever circumsize them???"

Thanks SKK. I try to present my site as much as I can in a way so that the quotes and information speak for themselves. That is, so that people can read and make a decision without being persuaded by me- too much anyway.

The first time I tried to watch the video, I only made it a few seconds. A long time later, I worked up the nerve to try again. I think I saw the whole thing. I was in a sort of shock while watching, so I don't remember.

It made me sooo sad(crying) and then soooo angry. It reminded me why the fight is worth fighting.
