Dressmaker's carbon?

Can anyone tell me the difference between dressmaker's carbon and regular carbon paper? I used carbon paper from the office supply to transfer a design I drew to some fabric for an embroicery project then later was checking instructions from the net (yes, I did first then read instructions later ) and all the sites I found said to use dressmaker's carbon. What is the difference? The carbon paper I used seems to have worked fine and so far it has not rubbed off while being worked with. Just curious!

Dressmakers’ carbon is designed to rub off with a dry or wet cloth (depends on the carbon and the fabric, etc.), so marks will not be left on the finished product. I have no idea if regular carbon would stain or bleed on your fabric or embroidery. Even dressmakers’ carbon paper, pencils, and markers say to remove the marks before laundering or ironing, however, because the marks may not come out or might change color. I don't find it makes much difference for my projects, though. I mostly just trace patterns, and the marks are at the edges and are usually trimmed off or sewn over.
