Bees

I just finished "The Secret Lives of Bees". It was such a wonderful story. Has any one else read any others by the same author. Can you give me a list of the books she wrote?

She's written a couple of non-fiction books, but the only other novel is The Mermaid Chair. I really didn't enjoy it as much. It seemed thrown together and there just wasn't any depth there for me. Secret Life of Bees is definately one of a kind.

Mermaid Chair is a middle aged woman's read.

It spoke to me because there are no evil characters in the book but the main character (forget her name) lived her life around her dh and dd. I can relate to this because I have never had my own life and have lived vicariously through my family.

This is changing for me because my youngest is going into first grade and I'm in school. I never went to college before (had my first when I was 18) I took part time classes and took and passed seven cleps and am now a Sophomore

Lets say I handled my midlife crisis differently from the character in the book but I can empathise with what she was going through.

I could see how this may not have been as engaging to someone who was not in this season of life.
