how long to wait after c-section for successful VBAC

I will not be seeing my normal Dr for my annual check up so (and even then I'm not going in until Jan) dh and I thinking about TTC next December, we want our kids pretty close in age. So should we wait longer for better VBAC chances?

I don't think there is a minimum length of time that maximizes a successful vbac. I think choice of caregiver is much more important.

My kids are 19mons apart or so, and i had a c section with the 1st and a v-bac/forcept delivery with the next... I don't know that there is a minimun eithe...

My midwives said they like to have a VBAC take place at least 18 months after a c-section, so they can be sure the uterus is adequately healed.

I'm also hoping to have a successful vbac after emerg cs in Dec 04 (60 hours labour!!!!) - so am doing all research possible... haven't found any specific recommendations re: time period (except what Benjismom said sounds pretty logical)
