There is a radio station that'll be reading HBP live on Saturday (the whole book) as soon as it's released. For those of us in the U.S., that's Friday (4pm pacific time). The station streams live on the internet. If you want details, feel free to pm me.

I looked into it a bit more. It was announced by mugglenet and the leaky cauldron, but both have now updated that the radio station is sponsoring a reading outside of a bookstore, but not broadcasting on the radio, and therefore not on the web either.

A couple of weeks ago I asked a stock guy at Target what the chances of them putting out the books early was and he said 0. He told me that they are only shipping at the last minute to the stores and that there is a $10,000 fine on EACH book that is sold early. AND the computers are set to not sell anything with that barcode till the day of.

I had visions of coming across it and sitting in the coffee shop and reading it as fast as I could until they caught me....but alas.

DH read me OoTP while I was in labor with DS and during the early nursing marathons. Now his birthday is on the day it comes out. I get to read it first and then DH is going to read it outloud to all of us...such a good guy

As for my nightmare - I preordered the book locally, and I'm so afraid I'll get there Saturday morning (they open at 7 just for this) and they won't have one for me.

Bummer is that we have a wedding reception to attend from 2-6, with a 2 hour drive each way. And I get sick if I read in the car !!!!! I'll get so little reading in on Saturday. What a bummer. Plus we have family in from out of town for the next two weeks, and I'll want to spend time with them. Who knows when I'll finish!?!?!

I checked my amazon account last night as well fearing that the order hadn't gone through or something..I ordered it in May..But everything looks fine..I had it mailed to my grandmother's house since we'll be on vacation in AL this week. But I have to go to a wedding and make nice with the family when I could be reading!!!!! ARRRGGGHHH..I'm such a fruit cake!!

I was on the trainer at the gym today and I was casually reading the last few chapters of OOTP and the girl next to me said "Good book?" Then she held up her book and it was GOF..We started talking about plot theories for HPB, the movies etc..It's one thing to talk about the books on here but to be talking about "Dumbledore, McGonagall and Tonks" on the elliptical trainer at the gym was a strange experience..And the girl I was talking to? She's 16..I'm such a loser! : But we made a date for next week to meet back up and exercise together and talk about HPB after we'd both read some..But I'm not telling DH b/c he'll make fun of me.. :LOL `

Well, we're leaving in a couple of hours for the rest of the week so happy reading ladies!!! I'll miss this discussion..It's been fun!! And go read the FAQ on JKR's website..It's awesome!! See ya next week to discuss the HPB!! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I the only one dissapointed that the HB prince is only 672 pages? I just feel kind of jibbed by that considering the OOTP was a very nice 870 pages I had hoped this would be bigger it seemed to be the cycle.

I pre-ordered a copy ages ago but we don't have Saturday delivery so I will have to wait until Monday We have company coming this weekend so it would be rude of me to diappear with a book anyway. BUT next week all of my kdis are in day camp so I can erad to my heart's content while they are gone all day!

They are screwing people over who did supersaver shipping. They are saying delivery "just after" June 16 for supersaver shipping. I actually PAID for shipping to get it on June 16.

I ordered mine from Barnes and NOble... I should check into it. Eek! With all my HP talk ds (3.5) wants me to read it to him. After about a chapter of HPSS he said "there are no pictures!" I got about 2 pages in before I lost him. Owen couldn't believe that Mr. Dursley's "eyes fell out", I believe when he saw Prof. McGonnagal/cat reading a map.

We are going to geekfest (http://www.freegeek.org/geekfair/index.html) on saturday, which means ds will fall asleep in the car, which means he will be up until midnight, which means if it comes on saturday I can't start reading it until after midnight!!!! ARgh!
