Early labor?

I feel so darn poopy. I have menstrual like cramps and (tmi) stomach issues. This morning I felt even crampy in my back which is so odd. And I noticed that my belly has disappeared because this little guy has dropped! Then, I lost a bit of my plug (but nothing since).

I went to the chiropractor and then to the midwives for a check up. We were supposed to have our homevisit today but they had a birth late last night and hadn't slept. They both noticed baby had dropped. His head is engaged and he's LOT (not quite the position I had hoped for but he's not posterior so that's good). I lost 2lbs (this is a shocker!) and everything looks good to go.

We are planning a homevisit for next week but both midwives said it could very well be a birth instead. I didn't drop with the boys until I was in labor so this is new. We discussed doing acupuncture closer to my due date if I'm still hanging in there.

If this goes on for a few days, I'm wondering if I should just get the acupuncture done or see a reflexologist. I've never had this many indicators so early and it's confusing and frustrating.

Sounds like things could be ramping up....but (as hard as this would be if I were in yours shoes) don't be too dissapointed if it takes a while to get going, it seems like many second moms take a little while to ramp up...especially if babe is not totally in the "best" position (sometimes lots of early contractions, etc can be helping baby get lined up).

Keep us posted, and get as much rest as possible!

Sounds like you are ready to go soon!

With ds my weight dropped on the Saturday and I had the runs as well. We went for a long walk that day. I went into labour on Sunday and he was born on Monday.

Happy birthing!

OOOOOH exciting........I have had the runs and cramping for the last week too - it's hard not to get too excited but I'm looking at it like it's the end of pregnancy and not the labour thing - if I told my dh it was early labour he would have a heart attack!!! Never really went into labour by myself the last time as I was induced so I'm not too sure what to expect but am trying to ignore it all until my birthing way is over (tomorrow).
Keep us posted of any other developments.
