I forgot about pressure on partner

So DH and I were talking last night about how I was sick of people asking me when I am going to have this baby...it has been going on for what seems like a month.

He mentioned that every day when he goes into work people ask him if I had the baby. The owner of his company also comments every day..."I am not expecting to see you here, why are you here?"

Poor guy! So he is getting it too. Then of course if I happen to call him at work his heart jumps every time!

Yeah they get it too! But my dh just started a new job, if he were still at the old job, I'm sure he would be harassed...

My dh gets that, too. I'm only five days "over due" people!

DH is getting annoyed too, he said at least four people from work asked him about the baby. Like, oh yeah, I forgot to tell you! It's bothering both of us.
But what bothers me even more is the fact that people are making plans with us for this weekend. It's like saying "we know you're not going to have the baby yet". I don't know what's worse- expecting it every 5 seconds or not expecting it for another few days??

I know I don't get why people even bother to ask. I have stopped answering my phone. I will pick up the phone if I want to talk to whomever is leaving a message.

Today we got a message from a friends mom wondering if we had the baby....ok I was due YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! arghhhhh

I'm not overdue at all yet (only 38 weeks and 1 day), but I wouldn't mind if people made plans with me if I were. I remember with my first we had plans to have people over for dinner during the 2 days after my due date. I went into labor while one of our guests was over (FIL), and I didn't want him to know I was in labor so I just told dh to make him leave. He took forever to leave! Ha, ha! It's funny now, but at the time... Still I know it must be annoying having all these people asking how the baby is! I haven't told anyone my due date, so I'm hoping the pressure will be less. I will just start saying the baby is due "soon" and people can think what they like. I thought the baby was going to be earlyish, but now I figure it could go on for weeks. I'm cool with that.

I love answering machines. We went 12 days over with Kemma and we would just put a new message on our machine every day and not answer the phone. Caller ID is good for that, too!

We are already getting the - is he here yet? is he here yet? so I think I am going to update our machine tonight.
