Any Christopher Moore fans?

So, are there any Chris Moore fans on MDC? I LOVE his books! I can always count on them when I need a laugh. His humour is *very* off-colour (mostly about sex, violence, and stereotypes), and I'm a very in-offensive person, but I find his stuff laugh out loud funny. Anyone else?

Here's his website

Some of his book titles:
Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove
Bloodsucking Fiends
Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal
Fluke: Or I Know Why The Winged Whale Sings
and more...

I like Moore also. I've read prob abt 4-5 of his. I didnt care for the coyote blue one, I just couldnt get into it, y'know.
I really really enjoyed Lamb and practical demonkeeping! Those are my faves.

I Christopher Moore. He is one of my favorite authors. I haven't read his recent stuff (Fluke, Lamb, or The Stupidest Angel) but I'm going to pick them up. Another one I really liked was Dave Barry's Big Trouble much better than his non-fiction IMHO.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one, but there aren't many of us, are there?

The first one of his that I read was Bloodsucking Fiends. Then I either read Lamb or Practical Demonkeeping next (can't remember). I think I've read everything he's written up to this point. I agree about Coyote Blue - I liked it, but it just wasn't as funny.

I've read some of Dave Barry's columns, but I've never read any of his books. I could use some recommendations for really funny stuff. Most of what I read is pretty serious.

He's fantastic...I've read Lamb about 5 times now!! Fluke...I had a hard time getting into, anyone else have that problem? Should I give it another go?

There was some interesting stuff in Fluke, but not as good as I'd hoped it would be. I can't remember the beginning, or if I found it slow to start. It was pretty weird in some spots (now, why I think Fluke was weird, but calmly accept demon's and monster man-eating reptiles are normal, I can't say...). My criteria for books is pretty strict these days - I used to try to read anything I started. Now, if I can't get into a book, I just put it down. The tiem I have to read is too precious to read something I'm not interested in.

The Stupidest Angel was great, though! It had many characters (and settings) from some of his other books...Practical Demonkeeping, Lust Lizard, Island of the Sequined Love Nun. A very frivolous and fun read.

I think that was my problem with Fluke, it dragggggggggggged in the beginning. I too had a thing where if I started a book, I HAD to finish it. Having a baby has changed that drastically, because now if I can find the time to read a book, I better damn well love it. I have Stupidest Angel, but haven't started it yet. It's sitting next to my bed, taunting me every time I go to sleep.

I like Christopher Moore. Of course, thanks to him I often have the urge to try Turkey Bowling. Started with Practical Demon Keeping many, many years ago and had to find more.

Haven't read Fluke yet, but I will....
