My kids are driving nuts. They are 8 and almost four, oldest is a dd, ds is youngest.
They fight all the time, all day long. Peace intervals last about five minutes until the next war. At the end of the day I feel like I've been in a fox hole.
I don't know what to do.
Nothing I do seems to help. I've resorted to seperating them and just plain out telling them they aren't to be around each other if they can't get along. It's really wearing me out. Dh is hardly ever home to help. Is this what having two kids is really like? Is constant fighting normal?
I am talking about fighting, not just yelling, ds hits and pulls hair and throws things at sister. Sister in defense will sometimes shove him away. We teach them not to hit and there are certainly consequeses (T.O. and talking about how it's not okay)
The most recent bad one was when dd was sitting in a white plastic lawn chair, the kid sized ones and ds wanted the white one (around a bonfire over the 4th) ds picked up his chair and hit dd w/ it scratching her back and making her cry. He cried and knew it was wrong and said he was sorry, but he turns around the next day or two and does something very similar. (the most dangerous was he threw a empty spaghetti jar from the recycling bin at her in the garage making a huge mess of shattered glass..he was two then) He is such a handful. I'm really at my wits end.
