Difference in the children's/adult's edition of the new Harry Potter?

I was on the amazon.co.uk website and they have two editions of the new Harry Potter, an adult's and a children's edition. Does anyone know what the difference is (other than the art)? I think I'll guess and get the children's edition. Ever since DH found out they change the words in the American edition to be more American he insists on getting the original UK version. Only another week!

Thanks to anyone who can explain the different editions.

The difference is only in the covers. They brought out adult covers so people wouldn't feel embarassed reading them on the bus/train etc :LOL

Sad, but true!

They didn't change words from British to American English in book 5 and I doubt they will in book 6. I guess JKR and her publishers assume that Americans are now smart enough to figure out that "trainers" are tennis shoes. :LOL

I was so glad that they didn't change the language in Book 5. I noticed there was a bit more in Book 4 also. I wish the first books were like that as well!

Actually, they did "Americanize" the US version of book 5 quite a bit. You can see the differences here:

I'm sure they'll make just as many changes in book 6. Wish they wouldn't, though. I've got the UK children's version of book 1 and I'm so tempted to buy the other books, but that's a lot of $$ to spend, considering I already have the US versions!

ok after looking at Amazon UK at the adult covers, I must say I do prefer them.

Yeah, those covers are alot nicer. I feel kinda jibbed. I swear sometimes I wish this site didn't clue me in on things. I feel like they think we're not only to stupid to catch the words but no need to give us nice covers(folds her arms and pouts like a child, wanting the nice covered books).
okay so even if you understand the word change, why the cover differance?

The cover difference in the UK between children's and adults' is supposedly so that adults would buy it, because they wouldn't buy "kids books". The difference between the US and the UK covers is that they are two different books, published by two different publishers. We get different cover art and different chapter art.

okay, thank you for that info, still like the UK covers.
