30 month old has poor listening skills - Page 2

Another thing that helps with my dd is talking about the future and what is going to happen during the day. We aren't big on routine here, but I do try to discuss everything...I find we have easier transitions if we talk about having dinner, playing a game, having a bath, reading, then bedtime, for example. Usually I don't do tooo far ahead, just a couple things, but every evening we talk about what we are going to do the next day. And each day I always at least try to get out of the house for a walk, since I need the sunshine for my mood, so at least I can say, "And we'll go for a walk." She loves talking about the next day. She is learning about time and really likes to talk about things happnening at such-and-such o'clock, i.e., "I'm going to get up a 4 o'clock." UMMM! LOL. But she enjoys talking about time even if is still learning what it means (i.e., the future is always "Wednesday," the past is "last night.")

Please if your child abilities are making you question and you describe it as "He acts like he doesn't hear you" take him to a pedatric ENT/audiologist.

He very well might not be. A simple hearing test can make your life a lot easier and a lot less guilty.
