Yesterday I got a terrible pain in my lower right side...bad enough that I went to the ER(I am not a hospital person)...it was excrutiating and I couldn't even walk.
After a bunch of tests(some obstetric including an ultrasound this morning) they think it's my appendix...it hasn't ruptured and isn't seriously infected however it is a bit enlarged and we are doing a wait and watch...it may flare up again or it may be isolated. From what I understand it's pretty common for women to get appendicitis while pregnant.
Anyway..the pain has gone but the area is really tender.
On the plus side...the baby is great, weighing approximately 2.4lbs at this point and measuring 27wks(I am 26w2days) I have an awesome pic of the baby's profile. The placenta which was lying low is 4inches above cervix and should be at least 5 for delivery which is fine.
So hopefully it doesn't flare up again...I really don't want surgery while pregant or afterwards for that matter...but if it does I have to go back immediately for assessment.
Anyway...I feel better now...Dr. says...drink lots of fluids, eat right and get my body as healthy as possible just in case. I do that anyway.
I am also to relax and not over-do it physically...and no lifting...ok...explain that to a 2 year old...but I will try.
