Anyone ever read Playful Parenting

Thread Starter
Just found out about a book called Playful Parenting by Lawrence Cohen. It looks really neat but before I head off to the bookstore to find it, I was wondering if anyone has read it and thought it a good book to have.

Your opinions hold more weight than the chosen "reviewers" of the book.
Oops... : As soon as I submitted this I saw the sticky with the Gentle Discipline book list. But, I'd still like to hear from those with first hand accounts.

Awesome, awesome book -- IMO, one of the best on the subject and worth every penny!

Yes, I have not only read it but own it. I borrow most parenting books from the library but this one deserves a place on my bookshelf.

I actually told a momma on another forum that if this book didn't help her turn around her relationship with her 3 year old that I would come clean her bathroom for a year!

It's the first book I've read in a long time that made me want to buy every copy in the bookstore and give it to every person I know with children.

My son is 2 and I find myself using ideas from it all the time - it's the whole attitude of the book rather than a how-to list from the book that makes it such a treasure.

I read it 3 years ago when I was pregnant with my ds. I have read many parenting books since then, but it has been and remains the most helpful. This book constantlly inspires me with ideas for handling challenging situations. I borrowed it from the library at the time, but I actually think I might buy it just to reread and lend to friends. Another book I found particularly helpful, but for different reasons, is Alfie Cohn's book, Unconditional Parenting.

I love this book, I had borrowed it from the library to read, and had to buy my own copy just to re-read it, I think I should read it over and over until I am perfect :LOL. I too, want to buy this book for every parent I know .

Here, here. Kohn is wonderful!

And now I've just finished reading Hold On To Your Kids by Gordon Neufeld and between the three books, I feel as though I have my most complete parenting reference section ever. Amen. My observation of these three books is that they arrive at the same conclusions (CONNECT WITH YOUR KIDS!) via three different routes... gives a most wonderful panoramic view and pretty much encompasses and reaffirms my deepest instincts. Wahoo!
