Let the calls begin!!!

Tonight is the first night we have had "Are you in labor?" phonecalls! Well, messages since we had gone out.

My younger sister called while we were out but left no message. She called back just as we finished eating and the first thing she said was "Oh..I thought maybe you were having the baby". Uh huh. lol

My SIL had also called and left a message that said "Tara, I hope you're okay! How are you feeling?".

Now my Mom is another story. The first thing she says (before asking to talk to Logan LOL) is "Anything yet?".

I'm not due for another 12 days so I can imagine that you ladies due now (or overdue) are getting these calls too! Tell me, are they frustrating to you or exciting? I actually sort of enjoy that people are phoning to ask about me right now. After baby comes it just totally turns into "How's baby??" and I'm selfish with the attention. lol With the oldest 2 it annoyed me to no end because I was desperate to have them.

I've had ONE call so far (I am due same time as you). From a friend of mine, whose 2 year old daughter insisted that I had had the baby. So she just called to check. Sadly, her daughter's psychic powers were not up to scratch.

But I didn't mind, since it gave me the chance to invite them over for coffee and cheesecake today. May as well keep busy while we wait!

My mum is here, so she won't call. My Dad might put in a call on my due date (he did that last time - when I was actually in labour), and neither of my sisters can ever remember when I'm due, so I'm not expecting any calls from them.

It's pretty constant here (due Sunday). It's fine, but sometimes I want to say to (insert family member's name), "Don't you think you'd know if I were in labor??' all of our family is so close, you can't sneeze without everyone knowing within 15 minutes. :LOL

I have the opposite problem. . .

any time I call anyone (esp. mom or sis), I have to start with, "I'm NOT in labor. Anyway..." And I keep having to call both for various reasons, so it's getting a bit ridiculous! :LOL

We stopped answering our phone WEEKS ago. I actually just recently changed the message on the answering maching telling people we have not had the baby and we would let them know when we did. :LOL

I also get the "anything today?" from my mom and I have to tell her every time to not ask me.

UGH. I get so many phone calls it's not even humorous anymore. I rarely answer my phone anymore.

Thankfully, I correspond with my family via email. DH's family, though....he had to ask his mom to stop calling in the mornings, because she was waking me up to check to see how things were going. She would get frantic if we didn't answer the phone, and would keep calling until she found us. That, plus her drilling me about any minute change, drove me mad, so she has stopped. Dh's sister tried to call a few days ago while we on the computer and couldn't get through. So, she *logically* (hehe) assumes that I was in labor and we were on the phone with the midwife every time she tried to call.
They really are wonderful ladies, though, just a tad overanxious.

Yep, I'm getting tired of the calls, too. I don't answer the phone anymore, either.
