I had a C-Section, 5 weeks ago tomorrow. Two days ago, I was looking over my incision & I noticed a suture poping out of it. My incision is closed for the most part, but it was wierd seeing a thread/string hanging out of my body. It was abou an inch long & I trimmed it down as much as I could. I do not want it to get caught & pulled on something. Is this something I should worry about? I do not see my OB until 7/29, I really do not want to go sooner. What do you all think???

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

it shouldnt be a problem, just watch for infection, but other than that it's pretty normal. When my son had his heart operation, he had some sutures sticking out too. I just trimmed them.

go to the doc or pull it out yourself 5 weeks the internal bits have probably healed and dissolved but where they didn't dissolve they can be pulled off. the sutures are just there to help hold the tissues together long enough for you body to bridge the gap and start hold itself together

My nephew had a few sutures sticking out of his ankle from where he had to have IVs and such. The nurse at his ped's office just pulled them right out. She did have a little trouble with one, but got them all.

Thank you ladies for your responses. I sort of thought it was nothing, & now I am glad to know it is nothing. I will try to gently tug on it later. Thanks again!
