I read somewhere that only 5% of the population has healthy wisdom teeth. How are yours?

Gone, gone, gone. They were all impacted and had to be broken off the bone. I had them removed when I was 17 - like 4 days after falling on ice and breaking my elbow. Big fun.

Only one pulled so far, but they're all coming out eventually. The top ones got cavities and caused them in the molars next to them, too. I should have had them out 10 years ago.

Still have mine... they're "sideways" on the dental X rays. I guess that means they're impacted, but I'm leaving them there unless they start causing some trouble.

I just had 2 impacted ones out last week. I still have to get the others out...blech.

Mine are all up and in place, they look just like regular molars.

What is the deal with wisdom teeth anyway? Do I have to get them removed if they're not bothering me?

Mine never grew in and according to x-rays do not exist. Weird.

Mine were all impacted. I had them removed when I was in the Navy, before I went to sea duty. They were not bothering me but I didn't want to be out at sea, without access to a dentist, and start having problems. Plus, the place where I was transferring from did concious sedation for the extraction and the place I was going to only did a local.

I guess, so far, I am a loner in that I have only had one pulled and the rest are fine with no cavities.

My top 2 are mostly grown in, no cavities that I can tell. but the pressure headaches I get are terrible sometime. I don't have dental insurance nor can I afford to see a dentist so I'm hoping they fit in ok.

I picked " I have had at least 1, but not all, w/t pulled out, and at least 1 of the remaining has a cavity" but it isn't really acurate and you can only pick one choice!

My bottoms never grew in and I had 1 (horrible) cavity in the top and the other one had a chip but they were both dropping and irritating the gum where the missing WT should have been. I had them both pulled and do not regret it. i would get sores from the rubbing...

I only had three! two were impacted, all three were pulled. They knocked me out and recovery was pretty easy, but I hear people have all sorts of different reactions.

Same here

Mine are all still in and healthy.

Mine are all gone. They were pulled as they came in, between the ages of 17 and 22.

My jaw was WAY too small for them, and when they came in, they were jammed uncomfortably against the back of my mouth, causing sores and making chewing and talking hard.

Mine never came in. I was in highschool and just had them taken out. . .

They're all gone. Two came in, 2 were impacted.

I also had 4 permanent teeth pulled when I was about 11 or 12. Something about there not being enough room in my jaw. So I have 24 permanent teeth.

Most of my baby teeth were pulled. (I suspect I was a cash cow for my dentist, and we had excellent insurance, so my mom went right along with it)

sorry, confused...if they never came in, how did u have them taken out?

i had 2 pulled, they were horribly infected and the infection spread to my throat, ear and head
the other 2 are still there, but the second i feel pain they're gone (those first two caused such excrutiating pain no painkiller could touch them)

Same with me, and same with my mother. I hope that's a trait that my DS gets from my side of the family!
