The Lewis Mehl Study of 1978 was also done by a medical doctor; a well-done, scientifically done, double-blind study that also proved that home birth is a viable alternative to the hospital for all healthy women;

...that healthy women tend to do better as a birthing population at home than their own counterparts in a hospital setting.
