Induction tomorrow -sigh

Well, here I am at 43 weeks, and we'll be going in for a cervadil/pitocin induction tomorrow at 5 pm. Just keep us in your thoughts all. Certainly nothing like we had planned, but we still have our midwives and doula at our side. Today I'm trying to get plenty of sleep and eat to prepare. I think we'll go out and get the new Harry Potter book so I can read that while I'm waiting in hospital Monday night - but you never know, sometimes cervadil alone pushes women into labor - that's what we're hoping. the less chemicals in me the better! Praying and trying to stay positive, Shannon

Can you fudge your dates? Are you sure you are 43 weeks?

Have you tried natural induction techniques?

Good Luck..

Visiting from August '05, good luck, maybe the threat of the induction will spark your baby to signal your labor. I've heard it happen several times. Talk to baby, and tell him/her that it is important that they come right away. Mind over Matter!!!!

I've been at a birth as a doula where the gel was all it too - beautiful birth less than twelve hours after first application. Thinking of you and wishing you a beautiful birth.

in re: to questions, we know exactly when we conceived, so yup, we're definitely 43 weeks. No lying now! We've tried just about every nat. induction technique with the exception of castor oil, b/c I am still vomiting daily with severe morning sickness. Losing control over the other end isn't really a good idea dehydration wise! We also have avoided herbs that aid contractions, since there's nothing for them to work with - my uterus is absolutely silent as far as contracting. I'm 2 cm and 80 percent effaced, having lost my mucous plug a few days ago, so I'm hoping all my body needs is that strong prostaglandin nudge. My mom was just saying, what? Eliezer isn't coming home to take care of the farm Monday night. Hell no! I'm hoping we'll be much too busy having a baby!!!!

Best of luck, Shannon. Here's hoping the gel is the only nudge you need. Will be sending positive birthing vibes your way at 5 PM today!
