Just because when I had my son I absolutely knew my dates...as did my mother, my dad was a long haul truck driver back then so it was easy for her to know! But when I finally was induced my body almost fought it....took them over eight hours to get contractions to start(they tried the gel first) but the nurses all commented that my body didn't seem to be cooperating. They said at this stage of the pregnancy usually all women need is a bit of encouragement. And because my baby ended up being a boy.
I was unsure if I should iduce or not but knowing my mother went to 44 weeks and still didn't naturally go into labor made me worry abit (mostly because of those horror stories they tell you when you are over!)
Yah my mom couldn't believe she was over with the twins either. She said she thought for sure she was for once going to be early when she found out she was carrying twins! :LOL I guess fate heard her and changed those plans!
And thing is my mom actually worked with a lady who's twins would be about 3.5 years old now that was 43 weeks over due with hers! WILD! My mom was so happy and proud of that girl because she had big twins like my mom (one 6lbs and the other 7lbs). My mom is just the cutest though!
