What would Ur DD tell my DD about Starting Middle School?

Dont ya just love the 'if someone had only told Me that' moments? So ask your DD what she would tell another 11 year old girl who is entering public middle school. How do they handle 'mean girls', boys, dances, teachers, more homework....any advice that they wish someone had told them before they entered Middle School (6th grade). Thanks! :

You might want to post this in the learning at school board. Not that it isn't applicable here, but that board is for kids in school so you are sure to get views from those that use PS.

I think it depends on the school...the stereotypical middle school scene is just that...stereotypical and not always the norm.

There's been some catty girls, some dissapointment (not making the cheer squad for my DD), and some conflicts between DD and a boy...not a boyfriend (he's gay), but I think more cattiness with him than she's had with the girls themselves. :LOL

But not really anything MAJOR so far.

Might be because we're in a smaller farming community too.
