That's really my whole question, does anyone know of a good computer based typing program for kids?

It is for an 8 year old.

Thanks!

We like Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. You input your childs age and it sets the program to that level... it includes games and stories that work for their age group. Many public schools use it too, and the kids do learn. My 12 year old went form 11 to 25 wpm after using it for about 6 months. And my 9 year old is improving and things its a blast. You can get it at best buy and staples for sure mine cost less than $10.
