good serger???

Any suggestions for a good serger? Ideally I would like to buy one second hand, but I have no idea what would be a good one. Thanks in advance.

I have no idea which sergers are good, but have you checked out www.patternreview.com? Click on Message Boards and then go to Sewing Machines & Sergers. They are always talking about sergers; they also have reviews.

just last week i got my very first serger. i got a new janome 604D. i LOVE it! before now i had never even used one but i was able to read through the manual and serge with it right out of the box. so far i've sewn 2 pairs of pants and a pair of shorts. i would be sewing with it right now except i ran out of fabric. it's my new best friend. LOL. i got mine from www.sewingusa.com for $239 no tax or shipping. i did go to joanne's to get an idea of what i wanted and saw the janome demonstrated and they were selling it for $299 on sale. i would highly recommend the janome and sewingusa.com.
