Wow, those are some ... ummm ... nutjob-like behaviors of his. What a, um, person resembling a whackadoo. Glad the mall and Motherhood mg't could see that.

The motherhood store manager called me back and appologized and told me that the girl was new and she would talk to her and discuss NIP and ways to handel inviting BFing moms to nurse in the store without being rude by saying you can use the dressing room IF nobody is using it. The Motherhood store is very small and all the chairs are in the dressing rooms, if a mom needs to nurse they can either go in the dressing room and sit or they can move a chair out into the store and sit. I guess the other mom that was inthere called also. The Motherhood manager is also following up on the security guy and making sure he is no longer working there. She has had many complaints about him as well as the other stores about people BFing, changing dipapers, kids not being in strollers, telling parents to hold their childs hand or carry them. I guess the guy is a real wacko. I feel better about the whole situation and am confident that the mall is BFing friendly place.

You rock. Thanks for not letting it go!

Oh my gosh what a freaking whack job security guard....he had been told twice already???

Thankfully you stood up for yourself and followed up. Hopefully the girl at motherhood can get some education too...does she think that that store makes special nursing wear for people to be hidden while they use it?

You are my hero jazzpurr88!!!! You must feel so good about this!

It sounds like the security guard was telling a story when he said people were complaining.

One reason malls suck imo is it's private property so they can get farther with trying to push weird rules than happens on a city street/a public square. There was an activist here in Madison several years back who got kicked out of a mall for passing out free copies of the U.S. Bill of Rights.

I'm glad this mall was cool about bf!!!!

Good for you!

What is UP with that "people are trying to eat here" comment? I mean, that's what I tell my daughter if she starts talking about bathroom functions or some other inappropriate thing at the dinner table. But I'm having a hard time understanding these people who think a baby eating doesn't belong with other people eating. When did breastfeeding become equivalent to a bathroom function???
