Tom Cruise should have mentioned breastfeeding... - Page 2

I saw Brooke Shields on Oprah-- I thought that she said breastfeeding helped her with her ppd? It was the only time she held the baby at first.

Yes, and I think that was a very powerful statement. I know for me, while I was suffering from severe PPD, the only time I held ds was when I nursed him. If it wasn't for bfing, I might have never bonded with him. I thank nursing for salvaging my relationship with my child.

But for her, and we don't know exactly how she was feeling, but she was suffering SEVERELY.....she needed to take drugs ( I think she finally settled with Paxil) and her doctor told her that it wasn't compatible with bfing. She listened to her doctor. Im not saying that her dr. was right, I don't know, but she was sick and listened to the doctor that she was paying to help her. And nursing for 8-9 months is more than most women in America AND while suffering from PPD.....not terrible. I don't liek that she was a spokesman for Nestle formula, but from what I know of it, she entered into the contract BEFORE she had the baby and couldn't get out of it....and since she was probably suffering from PPD, didnt' have the energy to get out of it. HOw many of us changed our minds about bfing AFTER we had our kids? I know I did. I thought I'd nurse for a year....nursed for almost 3, 8 months of it pregnant. Hopefully, she will do differently with her next baby.

ANd to the OP..... i don't want Tom Cruise on my side...the guys a kook. And yes, bfing can help ward against PPD...but I'm testimony that it didn't help me. Drugs did by the way, as did with baby #2....I thank my lucky stars that I was able to combat PPD with drugs. Ive said it before, until Tom grows a uterus, has a baby, and goes through the physical change that comes with birth....he can shut about what he knows about PPD and kiss my arse.

She chose paxil because it IS compatible with BF and kept BF while taking it. She started the drugs several weeks PP and nursed till 8 or 9 months. BTW She was a spokesperson for Bright Beginnings, not Nestle.

YesL as a bipolar myself (never with any stereotypical hyper-manic states, tho) I've thought that about him..... But maybe it's his reliegion along with his hyper- ego state, whichever, he does SEEM to be acting very wild. Maybe it's love???? All of the Above?? Wouldnt it be interesting if his new finance, Kate has a baby and end of with ppd and wants meds??? I dont care which religion you are--- Reciprocity has it's way!!

Oh, I could of sworn I heard in her interview that they had to change her meds after a while and said it wasn't compatiable with bfing. I must have heard wrong...wouldn't be the first time. I was probably bfing when I was watching and things kinda get lost in there when I breastfeed and try to take in information.
And isn't Bright Beginnings made by Nestle? My bad.

L. Rob Hubbard says that breastmilk has too many toxins in it. Things that the mother takes into her body, like cigarette smoke, drugs, etc.
As opposed to the pesticides sprayed on the barley?

As for silence lest there be negative "engrams", they're also not giving any POSITIVE ones by the silence either are they? :
