Janulicious July #3 - Page 9

Ack! Beatrice fell off the bed this morning! I got up before her and she never peeped when she woke up. I heard her cry, went in to get her, opened the door and started to say "Hi there!" -- and there was no baby in the bed! She was on the floor on the other side. She didn't get hurt, and only cried for a few minutes and didn't even want boobie to calm down. She scooted all the way around the pillow. I don't know what I'm going to do about naps and stuff now. She falls asleep nursing and cannot be moved and still stay asleep.

Karen - that sounds like excema, if its in the crooks of your knees and stuff. Are you sure its from the plant? Is there a naturopath who can check you out, or an herbalist? Maybe they can make you a nice poultice or something.

Aviva Romm says you can take Rhus tox. 30x for the rash.

Lisa, ooh you should definitely come to Hawaii!!! Sounds like you'd be here around Violet's birthday? If your dh got a job with the dreaded military, he might make quite a bit of money. I'm not sure what he does though.

Jessi, I think the dumpy house is more expensive because of the land its on.

Allright, Ori!! Way to let your mama get some sleep!!!

Quote:
We are *so* going to have our hands full once B gets moving, though. She is an entirely different creature than her big sis ~ EVERYTHING goes in the mouth. Any tips from seasoned Mamas about what to do about older siblings "too small for baby" toys being in the home? DH wants to put everything away that isn't safe, but I feel like this is both unrealistic and unfair to T. We don't have a playroom, so we can't easily separate the play areas. Our living area is our play area! I just don't want to become the Mama that says "No!" all the time ~ to the older or to the younger. This is going to be a challenge.
We built a fairly large table with a wooden rim around it (so stuff can't roll off) Little things, like legos have to stay on the table. We also have a big tub of all the little chokable things, that only comes out every once and again. The kids are awed by it, and love looking through it. Now that they are a bit more independent, we just try to make them keep everything in their room. But the table thing works well for younger children. Constant battle though. I found marbles all over the living room floor yesterday - and Violet is mobile enough to scooch to one, and eat it! YIkes!!

Pixie mama - I'm glad you seem to got everything worked out. Take time to process everything, and talk about it lots. You seem to be handling it fairly well - it IS a violation, and traumatic in its own right.

Michelle - 8 diapers sounds fine to me. She'll probably have less, cause you are feeding her less, but still enough, yk? As you nurse more, your milk supply will go up, and she'll start peeing more.

Ok, best go start taking care of me wee ones. Aloha all! Sorry if I missed anyone.

The dumpy house was on 0.08 acres! How is that worth $529k? Sheesh, it's not like it's Gloucester or anything.
Nope, not Gloucester, but Look at where you'd live
post #165 of 535
Also, our island is 10 miles across - land size is all relative :LOL
post #166 of 535
Yep poo from a turtle. The pillow was on the floor so I bet the roaming turtle left a gift. DH think one of the dogs may have used it for tp though

Annie dh says if he inherats some money HI's where we'd be going :LOL

I mailed out my postcards today. Finally : I couldn't remember how kmuch postage Pam's needed so I put 3 postcard stamps and one first class. I hope that's enough.

Its hot hot hot here. Its actually hotter in our apt than outside DH just left to spend the weekend with his dad. I think the kid's been gone more than he's been here since he got out of school .

I'm def feeling better and starting to get excited about the six flags meet up

We're not looking for a house to buy, unless it's selling for $900 :LOL my mum wants to invest in some re and we're really hoping she follows through. It would be good for so many reasons. Starting of course with we wouldn't always be having to look for a new place to live becuase someone new bought the house and raised the rent almost double, or wants to sell with the place empty, or now wants to live here

Karen bummer on the rash not getting better. Sending some healing vibes your way

so dh wants me to go to the doc for the rash. it's spreading to my face waaaahhhh. it's not excema Annie- i've got that too, and it's not the same. it's definitely some kind of contact dermatitis (or so it seems). I'm sure the doc won't be able to do anything, but dh will be more supportive if I go. whatever. we have some errands to do anyways and he'll be with me.

oahu is only 10 miles across? wow, that's teeny. i thought it was bigger than that.

I mailed out some postcards and then went to write more and I can't remember who I sent too! I'm so lame! why didn't I print out the list and cross off names?? If you get 2 from me- just consider it more love!

WE got a 'Bama card.. and I just realized there is only one more week in July, so my lame arse has GOT to go buy postcards!

Dad is at Sears getting some plumbing stuff, I dug all around dh's tool space and couldn't find the things we needed, so we're buying more. Not tools, just stuff (caps, tape, etc).

Lauren is rolling around on the bed w/o waterproof cover (the bed, she's covered) and so I just know she's going to urp. I should really put the pad and sheets back on before dh gets home tonight.

Going to look up Annie's neighbors house now... Our house was $109k and needs tons of work. No way we can afford the teeny tiny island
post #169 of 535
Wait Az -- when did you get a turtle?!
Oh we've had the turtle she's a box turtle and just walks around the downstairs, pooping in water bowls but once and awhile outside of one. She also likes to eat the dogs food, try to eat green baby toys and attacks herself in the mirror :LOL

Karen a trip to the dr shouldnt be that bad and if it gets dh to help out more than its well worth it.

Lisa a little urp isn't anything to worry about, you should see the condition of my mattress :

It's HOT here...andI can't get Ruby to take a nap. And she cranky too. Today might be the day I auction her on ebay. I asked her to sta in bed another 10 minutes withher baby doll and then I think we'll do a kids yoga vidoe I ordered the other day. Wil be interesting to see if she actually does it or just watches.

Kathy- We miss you. Sorry that whole thing happen. It is scary. And we bathe our babies once aday. usually in kitchen bowls with bubble bath. We do it ontheporch and blow bubbles too. Great way to entertain.

Annie- those housing prices are crazy. We pay $$$ for land here in Boulder too...which is why we have no yard :

Karen- Yuck on the rash hope it feels better soon.

Mar!!!! Good to hear from you again. I love your blog. the pics are great.

Sheri- wishing you a speedy recovery. Glad you're starting to feel better. Lame that dr won't call you back.

I hear yelling...gotta go!
yay! Torin got a card last week from New York and one from Alabama this week. I'm at work but have a moment. Can you believe it??
Jeni- sorry about Beatrice glad she wasn't hurt. I use a playpen for Megan's nap's downstairs

Annie- wow only 10 miles! which island do you live on? Cool idea about the toys. I was just thinking of what we are gonna do about that.

Sheri- glad you are feeling better! Only 3 more days
So do we know what time we going meet up at? etc.. I know Andy said she was gonna scout out some spots to meet up at different times and such

Ok so Megan was cranky today and she spit up her sweet tatos, not much just a little bit. She also did this monday. Could they be bothering her? Is that maybe why she was cranky? I didn't give her any solids yesterday and she was ok. I guess I'll have to do on and off days and see if her behavior correlates. Well I know why K was a super crank today, she just didn't sleep much last night. She only got maybe 7 hrs, she usually gets 9-10, dope I should have realized that. She took a much needed long nap.
oh yeah we got an Alabama postcard also
need to get my sorry arse out and get some too.
Wow Mar, time at work. Lucky you today!

Az, that's neat about the turtle. I would love to have a free range turtle in the house. DH would never go for it.
Oh and Laura! I feel for you on the pumping story. That is spilled milk worth crying over. I spilled an ounce yesterday and was very sad. the whole thing... I would have cried too.
jeni- have you put your bed on the floor yet? that will make her fall shorter....

Have I told you all lately how much I LOVE my baby?? I'm so glad to have him in my life. Sometimes I miss my old life and then I look at him and I know that it's all good.
Back again! Slow here today.
Karen - I can relate to how much you love your little guy. I knew I was going to love Torin but I NEVER knew how much I could feel for the little one. I just stare at him and think of how lucky we are!
Whoever said "no use crying over spilt milk" didn't know about liquid gold/mama milk!!
Jessi - your work week is over!!!
My day is going great on the CCU. Torin just came to visit me and I fed him AND I sent them home with 10 ounces!! Plus, I get to go home at 7pm (instead of 11pm) so I can put him to bed at a reasonable hour!
Jeni - sorry about Bea! Glad she is okay!
uh oooooooohhh! I spoke too soon. : The nursing sup just called me and I have to float back to ER. See you guys later! Have a great night!!!
Jessi, she's a small turtle, an eastern box turtle, just get one and plop it on the floor dh may not even notice for awhile. We never see her when its cold. I think I live with dh for 2-3mths before I saw the turtle. The easist pet we own.

Karen, there's nothing like baby love I can't imagine my life with out the children

Laura, dh was asking about meeting up etc and I said I know we're meeting at Six Flags I suppose we ought to be getting on that
