I love my DH!

When DS was born 15 months ago, DH was totally weirded out by BF. He asked me a time or two when we would switch to formula - and I told him, why would we?

Well, he's totally gotten over it. He called me at work today to tell me this:
Today a friend of his was over at the house picking up some baby stuff we no longer need. The friend's wife is 6 mos pg with a boy. The friend just about tripped over my PIS and asked what it was. "A breast pump," DH said. The friend gives him a funny look and DH says, "yep that's right dude, my little boy is breastfed. Never even had formula in fact."
The friend says that they plan on FF because it fattens the babies up better. DH counters that fat is not always healthy. Points out that at 15 months our DS has only been sick twice, and even then, barely. (He doesn't even have a constant runny nose like a lot of babies.) Notes how FF is linked to adult obesity.

Now DH wants to invite the friend and his wife over more to see if we can't rub some of our "hippyness" off on them! "If only for the baby's sake," he says.

In other news the friend saw my industrial press and thought it was a gun reloader?!? So my DH ended up explaining cloth diapers and snaps and wool covers. They don't seem interested but he gets points for trying!
(Same DH, did not want to try cloth. At all. But was sold when for the first time ever we woke up DRY which never happened with sposies.)

I love hearing stories of papas who not only come around, but then become advocates themselves! Yay!

It's funny because he really isn't an advocacy type at all. I loved hearing him tell the story.

You're husband rocks. As the thread on TAO said a week or so ago, there's nothing sexier than a good papa!
