Does anyone have a Husqvarna?

I'm trying to figure out what to buy. I was thinking about buying an industrial machine, but I've had a couple of people say I should just buy a Husqvarna. I'm thinking about getting the Husqvarna Viva, does anyone have any experience with these?

I forgot to say... The only reason I was thinking about an industrial is because I wanted something that could sew through several layers and that would last a long time.

I've got a Husqvarna 500 I , I've had it for over 10 years and it is still going strong. It will go through many layers with the right techniques. I guess I would ask what you are trying to sew?

I want to be able to sew cloth diapers and baby carriers, along with clothes and blankets.

I've also heard a few people say they like their Sears Kenmores.

Really, I have no idea what to buy.

I have a Husqvarna serger that I really like.

My regular sewing machine is a Pfaff that's roughly the same age I am. Since you're looking for something sturdy and don't care so much about bells & whistles, definitely look up sewing machine repair shops in the yellow pages and see if they have any used machines you could try out.
My Pfaff can handle anything - it fell down the stairs once and the carrying handle broke off, but it kept right on sewing!

I actually already called some repair shops. They all said the old machines were better. As far as new ones go they all said something different- Husqvarna, Pfaff, Bernina, Juki. I thought it was strange that they all recommended old machines; I called several different cities. I guess you are lucky to have the old Pfaff. I asked my mom to go look in her garage for her old machine. :LOL

I am a Pfaff pfan. I have had their industrial machines that were great, now I have the best Pfaff, without computer stuff. I've had it 5 years, used it heavily in my business, and never had a problem.
