repairman recommends jet dry and cascade. what do i do? - Page 2

We have a Braun dishwasher, also top of the line, on well water. We found that 7th Gen detergent did a horrible job in it. The only "natural" detergent that has worked for us is Eco-Ver. They also make a rinse agent, like Jet Dry, but I haven't tried it yet.

I am finding that 7th generation does not dissolve completely. We do not pre-rinse our dishes as our dishwasher is new and has a garbage disposal in it. We just scrape the solids off and put the dishes in. Saves water. We use the short cycle. With cascade, the dishes come out spotless and even the sippy cup valves and lids look clean and rinsed. With 7th generation, nothing looked clean and there was powder stuck to things, especially sippy cup valves and lids. Even on the long cycle. Our dishwasher is a 4-yr old Kenmore. I also found the 7th generation laundry soap does not clean as well as tide. I am willing try some other "natural" brands.

Any suggestions? We use liquid laundry soap but powder dish soap. Works best with our machines. I have never used jet dry or anything like it.

My 9 yo dishwasher was leaving a sandy deposit inside the glasses and coffee cups. Ick! We had to rewash by hand about half of them. We had a guy come and there were some bit of trash in the spinny things but even after he cleaned it out, we still got the grit. I ran out of Ecover and got some Cascade at the convenience store and my cups have been cleaner.

I have a large household, me, dh and 4 teenagers. We run the damn thing twice a day, sometimes 3x.

But now, to get cups clean, even with the Cascade, I can't put anything large on the bottom rack. Just plates and silverware. No bowls, no tupperware type stuff, no pots or pans. It sux.
