We use a mesh bag, or toss them in the diaper pail where they'll either get washed soon or the pee will inhibit mold.

Lately, we've been leaving used towels on the floor or counter until I get a chance to take them to the bathroom. : I either put them in the bathroom hamper or directly into the machine. Anything in the bathroom hamper generally gets washed within a day or two, since it's right next to the washing machine and I can throw in a load whenever I remember.

You can get the clothes dryer stands at WalMart, or any other dept. store or hardware store. We picked the metal kind, and it gives 27 feet of drying space, so it would hold a LOT of cloth towels! We just got it b/c it holds an x-tra large wash and saves hydro. I hang dish towels and other dirty & wet cloths over the shower rod, over the oven handle, etc., any place that DS can't grab them and (ick) chew them. If you hang hangers on the shower curtain rod, it gives even more space to dry things.
