Pine Sol OK?

OK, as I confessed before, I am AP, but was not all that natural in my living, beyond recycling. I am really working on it--learning a lot from my nanny. So I've been cleaning with vinegar and baking soda but there is a dull nature to the kitchen floor afterwards. A post here says it strips the finish off of linoleum--maybe that's it. Anyway, did all my grocery shopping at Whole Foods for the first time, and was surprised to see Pine Sol onthe shelf. Is it really OK? Or do they just put out some of the least offensive of the traditional stuff to increase their market share? Also, what is good to get mildew out from between tiles in the bathroom.

here is something maybe...

Hi there,
I would stay away from Pine Sol myself but of course that is just me.
I clean my whole house with Norwex cloths and essential oils. Norwex has several different products that make it easy...I could tell you where to get them if that is something you think you would like to look into.

We have a lot of mold in our bathroom and I use an essential oil blend called Purification...apparently some have diffused it in basements and it has killed the mold..so I don't see why it wouldn't work in the bathroom!!

Hope you find something that works for you!!

I would stay away from PineSol. In Clean House, Clean Planet the author states that PineSol is extremely slippery and will slip into lungs if swallowed, making it a real hazard to have in a home with kids.

Dr. Bronner's makes Sol Suds, it has a pine scent but is much safer than Pine Sol. They also use a much higher quality pine oil in their detergent. I use it for my kitchen floor and bathrooms. You can get it at any health food store. BTW, I love that book "Clean House Clean Planet".

Thanks, I'll try Dr. Bronner's.

I would not use Pine Sol, the only mass produced cleaner I use is one that is OK'd by the various Green groups, Bon Ami . It is kinda like Comet and works great. It will scrub off mildew as well if you really scrub hard.

I use lemon juice, baking soda, vinegar and bon ami and sometimes some essential oils with water.

That is my arsenal, and I must say all my friends say I keep the cleanest house ( although that is up for debate!)

I misspelled: it should be Dr. Bronner Sal Suds not sol suds. I know this because I used it yesterday on my kitchen floor-see I'm trying to keep up with flylady!
