I wanted to share the story I saw this morning in channel 13 news (WA state)They interviewed a group of mothers who are still bfing their toddlers. Here were the stats they had:
71% bf at birth
35% bfing @ 6 months
17% bfing @ 1 year
They did actually film the little one bfing during the interview which I thought was soooo cool. There was also a mama with a sling! (so encouraging) They also interviewed a LLL leader, who's name I've forgotten, mabey Julie, who was also still bfing.
The report cited the benefits of bfing past one year and also interviewed people off the street. An older guy (50-60) said he might be a little shocked to see a bfing toddler at first but that he would accept it!!! Wow...I wonder about Schram's comment now! (oh, he said that men can't seperate bfing and seeing breasts as sexual objects) Ohh Ken!
