Diaper binding

Does anyone use binding for their diapers (or covers) other than FOE? Do you make it yourself or where do you get it?

Thanks!

Hmmm. Hadn't thought about that before. Wondering what others have to say.

Strips of PUL or fleece? But then you'd still have to add elastic.
But I haven't tried either yet, so I don't know how much that is worth.

I've made 1 prefitted with lycra binding

I've done two Quickwraps (I think) with prepackaged fleece binding. I actually found it a little harder to use than the FOE, just because it's bulkier and the fold isn't as definite, making it a little harder to place. I hope that made sense. They turned out just fine though, and no wicking!

I just got mine from the local fabric store, with the other bindings. I think it's Wright's brand. I've also seen it at Walmart.

I would like to try cutting my own strips though. Since fleece doesn't fray, I'd just do a narrow strip and one fold, otherwise I think it would get a little bulky.

Oooo, fleece is a good idea. I just feel like the FOE is really uncomfortable for my babies. I am trying some new FOE though that I am still waiting on, but I have tons of fleece here so I might just try to make some binding real quick. Thanks!

Liza- How did the lycra work out?

Yup - some of my first newborn covers were bound with strips of white microfleece. There is pre packaged fleece binding too as Micki mentioned that works well, but strips work too - fleece doesn't fray so it's pretty easy to bind with you don't have to fold it under twice like you do when binding clothing with cotton.

I've used wool strips on wool covers and strips of PUL (also doesn't fray).
