Month 2: the main thread for chats and querries

Thread Starter

Hi everyone

To help keep us all on the same page and get the most responses to your posts, it was thought that we could all post on one thread each month to keep in touch. When there are lots of new threads, not everyone checks them out due to time, subscribing to one thread, etc.

The idea is based on the luna calandar, so this would be month 2 for us as we count down to March, month 10.

If anyone has any ideas or objections to this one, let us know : so we can try and make a supportive online community

Take care!

When I was posting on TTC, I found it very overwhelming to read "The One Thread" that they had. I didn't understand why they did it. There were many different conversations on the same thread and you couldn't follow any one unless you read all of the posts. I didn't have time to sit down and read the numerous posts each day.

By keeping the threads separate topics I can pick and choose which ones to read. And if you are particularly interested in one you can just read it without having to go through a ton of other posts that could be on a different topic altogether. Just my opinion.

For instance, right now the March Mommas and Due Dates has 83 posts in it. I do not have time to sit here and read through 83 posts. But I CAN easily scan the other topics and see that 3 of the 5 interest me and I can quickly read them. KWIM?

Oh good! A thread for chatting!

I agree that for specific pregnancy stuff it's good to have specific threads, but for everyday things ("man oh man do I need suggestions for morning sickness today" or "today was fun because...), it's nice to have a place to chat and get to know people personally. Plus, the March Due Date thread was getting chatty, and it's hard for me to search through all the posts each day for the due dates.

Can you believe this is the second month already? Time is flying by.... 'course, it's probably going to fly by when I'm napping and sleeping 12 hours a day. In my absence, my husband has turned into a total supermom!

Anyone else getting all lovey-dovey? I noticed this with my last pregnancy, and it's already starting. All of a sudden, dh is the sweetest, most wonderful man in the world, and I'm always so thankful for him. Just two weeks ago I was so annoyed by him I could have pitched him off a cliff! When I was pregnant with the twins, I turned into this crazy adoring wife (not a bad thing), and I remember I was always so terrified that something bad would happen to Michael and he wouldn't be alive to meet the babies. I swear, the hormones make you have all kinds of crazy dreams/nightmares. I'd wake up so afraid he was dead, then see him next to me in bed and cry because he was so beautiful. Kinda sweet, but kinda too, you know?

I'm not too keen on a monthly thread either. I've been on many boards and if we want to post something that doesn't relate directly to pregnancy, we would just put OT in the thread title.

There's a weekly thread going for this sort of thing. It seems like doing them a full month at a time gets a bit overwhelming especially with a chatty group

I'm confused? Are we using this or another weekly thread? Hmmm, I haven't seen it for this week.
Well, just wanted to respond to Elisabeth- and yes I have been getting lovey dovey- but also teary-eyed over the stupidest things- like tv commercials, and dumb made-for-tv-movies. I just can't turn off the water works these days. Everything makes me cry. I remember feeling this way AFTER giving birth to dd, but not now...oh well! It must be the hormones!

The idea was that a monthly thread would be less confusing than a weekly thread, which seems to have fallen away, so we'll see how this idea holds and if some of us like it for general chatting

Gosh, I wish I felt really lovey; I'm much closer to crabby : I would love it if I had a change! And its not from lack of sleep, either! Dh is a teacher so is home right now. For example, today I slept in, and then when I lay down with ds for his nap, I was quite sure I'd be up again. Nope, passed out cold! and was stunned when it was time to get up again. It really feels like I'm sleeping this summer away :LOL Oh well. Its only 9:20 and I'm ready to turn in.

mimi~ it does feel like sleeping the summer away! I was just telling that to dh. On the one hand, it's a good thing I'm green now because he's on summer vacation. On the other hand, as soon as I'm feeling better it's time to face him being at work for 9 months! You just can't win!

kindergirl~ Yesterday I flicked on the TV, saw five seconds of a mom talking about how her adult son was struck by lightning, and tears were streaming. TV really gets me. Do you think this weird water works thing will go away after the baby starts making its own hormones?

scubagirl~ how'd the work situation end up yesterday? Did you still get to make an announcement?

, everybody. Is there anybody not riding the green waves of nausea? They say one out of three pregnancies cause no morning sickness. If I've had two now that have caused morning sickness, does that mean I get a "get out of jail free" card next time? (I'm just being goofy, but in a way, I will get a card! Next time we're ADOPTING! Woo-hoo!)

i like the thread idea we can all get to know each other a little more, and post our thoughts, as sometimes i want to chat about some thing but its not worthy of starting a thread if you kwim.

ROM the work thing was so screwed up i was so mad at the weekend, when i found out my deputy boss spilled the beans to everyone (very unproffessional, and then she shouted at me and denied it wtf!!!!), but dh told me i had to get over it as stress bad for the baby. So she stole my thunder, but people would have known anyhow as the radiation safety officers descended on me and are making me wear 2 extra dose meters and one is huge ( i may as well have a huge sign that says pregnant on my forhead lol)

Oh well at least i can be lazier at work now, esp as feel so nauseous all day.

well better go as my new car baby arrived last night (64 beetle), and i need dh to teach me how to drive her better

I never really felt nausous with my first two, maybe a smell or two would make me say yuck, but I never felt like I was going to throw up.

I have been so sick with this one, not a lot of throwing up really, but a lot of times I run to the bathroom because I think I am. And an upset stomach all day and night.

I am hoping it means it is a girl, but wouldn't be surprised if it is just cause this one has a different dad then the last two, which I also hear can cause pregnancies to be different.

I have never had any morning sickness or any other bad pregnancy symptoms and this is number 3. All my friends are very jealous but I think I am just lucky! Does anyone have advice on what to do for congestion without meds? I have a terrible cold and can't sleep 'cause I'm so stuffed up. I never get sick so now I don't know what to do to feel better and get some sleep. Any ideas? (this is what I think I look and feel like right now)

I'm in tearful sisterhood with everyone who said they are feeling very emotional. I've gotten upset over the strangest things.
I'm also having something like hot flashes. Anyone else? It's icky--all of the sudden I'm burning up and sweaty, then it goes away after a few minutes.

Scubamom, I'm so excited you got your new car baby! I remember when you said you were going to--how fun! We adore Beetles. DH's office is decorated with Beetle models and framed Beetle advertisements from the 60s and 70s. We have an 03 ragtop (manual, of course), but the new ones are really not the same. A pale imitation! DH used to have a 70s ragtop and still misses it so. I have been kind of wondering about how I'm going to bend myself around the front seat and strap a baby into a carseat in the back. It's not exactly roomy back there. :LOL

That would be me... I am nausea-free. Though I had some moments this evening -- we went to our favorite sushi place. I ate all my favorites except the raw things (no sashimi, wahhhh! but unagi, tamago, shiitake mushroom maki and California maki are all OK). I was feeling a little nauseated as we were walking in, but I think it was because I didn't eat enough today! Dinner went fine. I would hate to lose my lunch over my favorite foods.

So don't hate me because I'm not nauseated! I'm not lovey-dovey, either. I guess those hormones just aren't as strong here in Michigan. =)

Hi everybody--my vote's for a weekly thread because I think this one will get unruly, but we might as well try it this way for awhile and see how it works.

I get horribly gassy at night, but I'm not nauseated. At this point in my last pregnancy, I was constantly sleepy, but over the nausea and bloating. it seems like on average, it's getting easier, but it's hard to think of the big picture.

I'm happy to still be comfortably wearing my normal clothes--I was using rubber bands by 9 weeks before. Yay for the breastfeeding weight loss plan!

Hi!
Is anyone else completely exhausted? I guess this is week 7 for me, and I'm ready for a nap by 9 am. I get up at 6 and walk and by now I can't even keep my eyes open to read ds a story.

I also don't have morning sickness yet. With dd I didn't really either, but with ds I was terribly sick for 7 months. Maybe this means another girl
post #16 of 34
I wanted to pop in quick. I convinced DH to go to the beach today. Yesterday was our 8 anniversary.
I haven't noticed any emotional changes.
I am a lot more nauseous than my last PG. I more so in and out all day long. I think sometimes I want to fall over with fatigue though.
I am worried about fitting my maternity clothes. Everthing will be the same season but I am 30 lb heavier since last PG. I guess I'll just have to see.

Hi all!
I think I am worrying over nothing.... but, I am in week 5 and I'm not noticing the nausea, etc like I am reading about.. and this morning (TMI! TMI!). walking form one bldg to another I had some...er.. discharge.. I investigated and it was just sorta watery w/ off-white (pretty normal I guess??? yes? no?) but it freaked me out a bit- first real stuff from down south in like two weeks. I haven't had to pee excessively yet either.

I am noticing that:
Boobahs are VERY sensitive and feel "heavy"
My abdomen feels a bit swollen, like AF-ish and feels "heavy" also
I am cotton mouthing like noones business. I feel like I need at least 100% more water.
I get really sleepy from about lunchtime on, but found that a little exercise helps.

And thats about it so far.....

Kellykins,
The cm is normal. I think there was a whole thread about that earlier. I've had it constantly since the day I should have gotten AF. Basically it makes me worry that it's blood and I'm miscarrying 24/7, but it's totally fine.
I'm also 100% there with you on the other symptoms--I could just copy and paste yours! Heavy bbs, sleepy, thirsty. I'm just glad I'm not sick!

You ladies that aren't sick are my HEROES!! ~~ though I do like what someone said about girls making your more sick....hee-hee....still kinda hoping this one's a girl....

kellykins~ ditto on the CM being normal. I had it week 4 through week 8, and it was really freaking me out. It seems to be gone now.

InochiZo~ Happy Anniversary!!

nubainamy~ mmmm....shiitake maki! Half of the reason I love it is because it's so darn fun to say. Shiitake maki, shiitaki maki, shiitake maki.....I could giggle over it all day.

scubamom~ you're so funny. I have this vision of you wearing a huge RunDMC-like chain around your neck with a big ol' geiger counter at the end of it. You should spray paint it all gold, braid or spike your hair, and start walking around with super-low pants. You could be like Missy Elliot or Gwen Stefani! Though then we'd have to start calling you Rappermom.....

Anyone else really burpy? I feel like my stomach is constantly full of air, and I'm always moving around in the hope of getting it out.

Well, today's my first OBGYN appointment!! I still haven't made up my mind if I want an ultrasound or not (though honestly, he probably won't order one). I just want to know there's a heartbeat and that it's not twins this time.... We're going on vacation next week, and I'd love to have that peace of mind.

to all!

Looks as though I will be having a bit more time to chat now.

I was put on bedrest lastnight until I can see a sOB.. which is Monday.
I began cramping on sunday, no biggie, cramped with last preg THE ENTIRE FIRST TRIMESTER! I began spotting Tues night, no biggie, spotted with ALL preg. WEEEEELLLLLLL...... a biggie now, began to bleed yesterday at work.
Went to the hosp to be safe and make sure that the baby had a heartbeat.
Had a vag u/s (omg, the horrible pain that was!!!) Confirmed 8 weeks into this.
Baby is good right now... (ER doc told me that I could be in the begining stages of a mis and to take it easy) so they sent me home and told me to stay off my feet, in the bed, no pelvic exercise, but to exercise my legs once a hour.
Not even a day into this and going nuts already... I do not understand how women make it through months of bedrest!!!

Other then this news EVERYTHING is great!!! Just a bit of m/s... nothing like my other pregs. Excited

Prayers for this lil one are appreciated, ty!
