Tummy--sending lot of good baby thoughts your way. Hang in there. Can you watch tv in bed? I know, I know, but that's one way to make the time disappear. Hope everything works out.

An older woman in my building asked if I was pregnant last night. She's had four, so I suspected she would be the first to figure it out. I told her I wasn't telling anyone yet, 'cause I am only 8 weeks, then she told the next woman who walked outside. Grrrr. Then this woman (whose had only 1 child) said you're so big already (I swear last night it was mostly gas). HOw can you be sure its only 8 weeks, are you further along? I was clearly getting annoyed when I said, yes, I'm sure. And I don't really want to be telling everyone yet. I did not want to discuss it with the over 50 crowd in my building : , but I told the other moms with toddlers cause we all hang out. There's something very annoying about older women scrutinizing your pregnancy and size.

Thanks for letting me vent!

For instance, right now the March Mommas and Due Dates has 83 posts in it. I do not have time to sit here and read through 83 posts. But I CAN easily scan the other topics and see that 3 of the 5 interest me and I can quickly read them. KWIM?
Gosh, that one thread was overwhelming! I was on it for one week and didn't go back. Too much going on. But that can be due to more members, we have just over 50 right now, and a great deal of anxiety over becoming pregnant. There are lots of posts on the ttc boards agonzing over body functions and monthly cycles (I was on the bf'ing mommas ttc board for 8 months).

You're right the due date thread has tons of posts, but its just a meet and greet thread.

So I don't see the monthly thread getting as unwieldy as the ttc one thread

Immune system

Hi all,
Has anyone's allergies/eczema gotten worse now? I head these things clear up during pregnancy, but my eczema is terribly out of control, even avoiding dietary allergens. I am itching all over my face, neck, and legs. Its horrible and I've had to resort to cortisone on my face because it is so bad. My MW thinks I should see a dermatologist. But what can they tell me? Just give me more cortisone, that's what they do. Is this due to a lowered immune system?

Anyone else really burpy? I feel like my stomach is constantly full of air, and I'm always moving around in the hope of getting it out.
Yes, very gassy -- lots of burps and farts (we call them "ducks" in our house). I keep apologizing to my bf; he is patient and mildly amused.

Maggi~ Thanks! What was the reference to Chasing Amy? Was she referred to as "nubian" Amy at some point in the movie?

Mimi~ sorry about the allery/skin reaction. A neighbor of mine years ago had really bad eczema....it got worse during the first trimester (because of all the hormones your body has to produce??) but then got TONS better in the rest of the pregnancy. I hope that's the case for you. Maybe seeing the dermo wouldn't be a bad idea....he/she might have some ideas for pregnancy-safe treatments.

9 weeks today! Baby is about 1 inch long and weighs as much as two paperclips. I felt my uterus this morning while I was in bed...for some reason it floats closer to my belly button when I'm sleeping or laying down for a while, and it makes it much easier for me to feel it in bed. I'm definitely starting to feel thicker in the waist, but for now it looks a lot more like chubs than "showing." Ah-well.

and to all

There's a mention of the word "nubian" during the movie, and one of the characters asks, "What's a nubian?" It actually had nothing to do with Amy at all, but many people think because of the reference and the character's name that my nom has to do with that movie.

No motivation

Can't say I'm that tired, or that nauseous, but lord, trying to get up the motivation to do things is soooo blah. It's time to make dinner, I even know what I want, and yet I so wish someone else could do it. Where is that personal chef that every pregnancy comes with ? :LOL

Alright, here I go.......

the puking has begun

:Puke
Six weeks...right on schedule.
All my good eating is, um, in the toilet and I'm now living on rainbow sherbet, which DH had to procure from the regular grocery store, although we usually shop the local NFS. Maybe I'll get a rainbow baby?

I am right there with ya. I AM very tired, but also feeling quite lazy even when I am not tired. We ordered food in twice last week cause I was too lazy to make dinner. We'll go broke doing that for 9 months! I find myself allowing DD to watch videos so I can nap.......I better save that for if I am on bedrest later!

I hear ya on the too tired, unmotivated to move! I really don't want to get off the couch either, and daydream about what life would be life if I could just sit and move only when I felt like it :LOL JUst a few more weeks and the energy should be up for 3 months . . .
