Just wanted to let you know that I had Gabriella Friday morning at 9:05. Labor started around 11pm Thursday night after the midwife stripped my membranes earlier that day. I labored at home (mostly on the toliet) until around 6 am when Tia got here. When we arrived at the hospital they did the 20 minutes of hell (continous fetal monitoring) and I lost it. I was sure my vision of a good hospital birth was going to go to shit. Anyway, after that was over, I moved into a labor room with the jacuzzi and spent the next couple of hours in there. I went through transition in the tub-only got out because I told the midwife I was starting to feel some pressure. I am in love with the tub, it was awesome. Finally, the hands off labor I had wanted. I got out, was at 9 cm dilated so I consented to having my water broken. The midwives were great, totally letting me decide when to push, etc. She had a few scary decels so the lead midwife stretched my cervix around her head to help quickly get her out. She came out facing left, and had the cord wrapped around her neck twice. I have no tearing or stitches, and came home this morning after only staying for 24 hours. She is nursing well and my milk is already starting to come in. I am so happy with this birth, it really couldn't have gone better. The only thing I would change is the 20 minutes of fetal monitoring, otherwise it was as perfect as a hospital birth could be.
She is 7lbs, 14oz and 19 inches long. She's smaller then anyone had guessed, but perfect
