Never mind I figure it out.

But now I'm curious

Me too, is it something we can learn from?

I was sewing a cuddlebun and was confused as to why it looked so small. I forgot to add to the material to compensate for t&t. I tried it again with binding it with fleece and it was bigger. Still have trouble believing it would fit a 30pound kid but definetly well into 20's.

The only thing I can't figure out is how to do elastic with a diaper bound in fleece.

Hmm. I wish I knew what the pattern or finished diaper looked like (I have a bias against one size dipes, it's a snap issue). The two ways I've seen it done are to do the hidden elastic between the layers or to put the elastic on the seam allowance, then add the binding over it. Would one of those work for you?

And thanks for telling us your original question!

I'll give that a shot with putting the elastic in the binding. Hadn't thought about that. I was trying to figure out how to do it hidden between the layers but hadn't come up with anything that I liked. Oh and I didn't use snaps I used touchtape. I'll upload some pics later.

Let me know if this link doesn't work for you. There should be 3 different pics.

The dragon one is bound with fleece. The worms one is a t&t. And just for comparison I put in a small wiggle worm bottom cover so you could get an idea of the size. I really need to figure out something with my velcro tabs. on the smallest setting they stick out really far. Oh and did I mention these are actually pocket dipes.

Oh cool! You made the Cuddlebuns pattern into a pocket? I've been thinking about doing that, but the thing I like about CBs is the quilted look of the center stitching, and you can't have that stitching with a pocket. I was thinking of putting in a layer of hemp just to get the stitching, but I wasn't sure it was worth the effort either. Tell us how you did it! :

It's pretty simple I just did 3 layers. Print, pul, and microfleece. Bound it with fleece and left a little opening in back for stuffing. I wouldn't think it would be worth the effort or added bulk just to get that stitch down the center of the dipe. But you could do it if you wanted to. Just make sure to do that stitching BEFORE you put on the top layer.

Just wanted to update you. My niece is 2 and a half, not sure her weight but I'm definetly assuming over 30 pounds. Anyways she's staying here tonight so I cd'd her bum with both of those dipes to try them out. The dragon one that I bound in fleece fit her, a little on the snug side but not uncomfortable. The worms T&T fit snuggly but was so uncomfortable I changed her within 20 mintues. I probably wouldn't have left it on her for a minute but we were out and about when she decided to fill her drawers and it was the only clean dipe I had with me so I couldn't change her till we got home.

I definetly need to get back in the swing of this baby stuff. I can't believe I left the house for even one minute with only one spare dipe and a travel pack of wipes.
