Why you should follow instructions

So I cut out my pattern last night and on the pattern it said to preserve the pattern by either having it laminated professionally or doing it yourself with clear contact paper. I got out my roll and clear contacted the sucker, then cut out the pieces.

The instructions said "You'll be glad you did!" and BOY AM I!

See, I had it all out on the kitchen table and was removing the glasses of water and milk my kids left there so that they wouldn't get knocked over and somehow I knocked over a glass of milk

Now I had a choice - save the pattern or my laptop. Needless to say, I shoved the laptop out of the way of the oozing puddle, but my pattern got all splattered.

But since I did what I was told, all I had to do was wipe it thank goodness! I would have been seriously irked if I had ruined my pattern before I could use it!

Hurray! Great save! I am sure I would have ignored that little step myself.

Do you wish for a sewing room as much as I do?

I wish for a soundproof room of my own :LOL

Seriously, my dream room would have a big crafting table for when I wanted to sew or stencil or paint something, then a great old wooden desk for when I wanted to write, a wall of shelves to organize stuff on and a window seat long enough to curl up on with a book...

OMG! I hear you on the soundproofing! :LOL Who knew four kids would be so noisy?

OK, I did, and I had them anyway.

ahhh a sewing room daydream

I really like the soundproofing part; I am going to add that to my daydream. Usually I dream of a room (with a door!) that has my sewing machine and a long narrow harvest type table where I can lay out my fabric and patterns and leave them and not worry about the cats sleeping on my fabric or juice/milk being spilt on anything and my scissors not being taken to cut out paper pictures...but then someone usually starts screaming and I go running...daydream over...sigh.
