This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.
Darling diapers pattern question

I don't have this pattern (although I am considering it), but since no-one has responded, I'll give some general info.
I'm going to assume your pattern has 5/8" seam allowances (which I know could very well be wrong for a diaper pattern, but the principle is the same). I would cut the pattern 3/8" smaller. That would leave you with 1/4" to trim as you are serging. I have found my serging looks a lot better if I have something to trim than if I try to serge along a cut edge. So if your pattern is allowing a 1 inch seam, you would trim 3/4"...

I know I'm very late responding, but better late than never.
When i sold diapers made from the patter, I actually used the exact pattern and didn't remove any seam allowance and I'll tell you why. I sew my elastic in "blind" between the layers about 3/4 of an inch in from the raw edge. When I serge, I always start right there where the leg elastic is and I line OUTER part of the serger foot up with the INNER most part of the three step zz that I used to stitch in the elastic. My foot happens to be about 5/8 of an inch wide. So, when I line it up like that, my serger blade is cutting about 1/8 of an inch of raw edge off (give or take) and I do that all the way around but I'm not so good at serging around the wings, so I invariably end up cutting more off than 1/8 inch there.... usually closer to 1/2 inch
and it all evens out in the end. If you are really good at serging around curves, you can trim a little away from the wing ends when you cut your fabric to begin with. But overall, you can just use the same pattern pieces and then sew your elastic in far enough from the edge that it leaves you room to cut away some of the fabric with your serger. It always looks nicer if you let your serger do the cutting anyway. Hope that helped a little!
