when do we start?

dp and i have been talking about when we might want to have #2 and now i have some questions.

we (i and dp aggrees) would like to have #2 when dd (now 8 months) is 2-2 1/2 years. so when do we start really trying? i know that it won't be for a while, but i've never tried to get pregnant. so do we start 12 months out, ten?

please help.

ok i am thinking logically here. first decide what is the youngest u want ur dd to be when u have ur second. if it is 2 then i would start 10 months before her second bday in case u get preggo the first month. in case it takes you 6 months u are still within the age u want ur dd to be.

I agree with the pp, start at the point where you're still okay with the age span if you get pg the first month. It can take some people a while to get pg... but you can also get pregnant the first month you try, and you won't know which category you fall under until you get there!

that was kind of what i was thinking. and the benefit of having a six month window for preferred timing.

My DS is 11 months (born 9-8-04) and DH and I have decided to start TTC in February. I got pg with my son on my very first cycle trying and we want then somewhere between 2 and 2.5 years apart so my son will be 17 months when we TTC.
