PUL cover question

For those of you who make PUL covers...

Do you make them with a single layer of PUL, or do you back them with something?

What bindign do people use - FOE? Bias of same fabric? Purchased bias binding?

I do mine in 2-3 layers. I don't like plain pul I like my diapes and covers to look pretty so I usually do an outside layer of knit then a layer of pul and sometimes a layer of microfleece. If I'm skipping the microfleece then I turn the pul so that the laminated part is away from the baby. You can skip the print layer but like I said I like mine pretty.

You can bind with FOE. Or you can use fleece cut into one inch strips. If you use the fleece your gonna need to add elastic if you use the FOE you wont have to.

If I have a solid color of PUL, I'll do it plain, with a strip of PUL to reinforce the Aplix. Otherwise I'll do an outer layer of cotton, flannel or knit. I like some variety! I usually bind with FOE, but occasionally do hidden elastic under fleece binding. If you bind with fabric, you'll want to use non-wicking fabric.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have ordered some plain and patterned PUL, so I will give these methods a try.
