What is the best newborn diaper pattern?

My best friend has been ttc for quite some time and when and if she does get pregnant I want to give her a newborn stash to evetually try out. What brand would you recommend for patterns? I have seen Very Baby mentioned a lot so I don't know if that is the route to go. The easier system the better because she has made no mention of wanting to CD but I am determined to convert her. :LOL

then def. VB AIOS is the way to go they look just like disposables, are super duper trim and are pretty easy to make. Plus they have a tiny NB size! You could probably make alot of not alot of money in a size that small. I think when you try to convert someone to cloth it would be easy w/ VBs.

Not to mention that the NB VBs are sooooo cute and tiny!

I'm partial to the VB AIO pattern myself, especially with all its versatility. I'm new to cding and the diapers I made with this pattern are definitely my favorite to use. And easy, to boot!

Just wanted to add my 2cents. Dd was born with big thighs and the VB nb aio's never fit. That whole shape just doesn't work for her. I was sad b/c they were so easy and everyone raved. Just thought I'd add that info. I loved the Darling Diapers nb diapers I made. If you search here you should find that thread back a few weeks. Amber will email you the pattern template.

Diaper Shop

That's where you can get the VB pattern.

I have the VB fitted pattern and have only made one in the newborn size so far, but OMG it's so tiny and cute! It's on ds's Cabbage Patch at the moment :LOL . It almost seems too small, but I think I'm forgetting how skinny newborns are at first. I'm debating whether to make a bunch of them or just skip to the smalls.

I think I am going to buy/make a variety and see how it goes. I wouldn't want her not to cd just because she had a bunch of one brand that didn't work.

While I love VB I would definitely try a few different patterns out. That way you're more likely to find one that will work well for her baby!
