Snap Press tutorial..help please!

Allrighty mamas...I'm gettin a snap press, but I have a few questions!!

Is there a big difference between the snap press at the Snap Store vs. OSDS?

Is there a reason why industrial would be better than regular?

Can I buy sz. 20 snaps at the snap store and use them in a sz.20 snap press from the OSDS and vice versa? Say OSDS has a good sale on snaps,but I have the snap store press...are they interchangeable?

What size snap is better for diaper making and good for other uses, like kids clothes and whatever else I decide would be cool to snap?

Can I get metal and the plastic snaps and use them w/ the same set of dies?

Oh...and for diaper making, do you usually get the long prong or reg. prong snaps? What would be most universal?

ETA..I just thought of something else...what do you use to store the snaps in and keep them organized by size/type etc.?

cant answer all of these questions. But for diapers, me and everyone I know of, we use size 20, the regular 20 for diapers.
You need dif. dies for plastic/metal snaps since they are shaped differently.
I *think* you could use OSDS and snap store snaps/press interchangebly, but wouldn't take my word for it, since I can't even spell it. :LOL

Oh, and FWIW, I have the snap store press and love it. I have always gotten great CS there, too.

The only real difference between the snap press at OSDS & The Snap Store is the size dies they take. Just make sure the dies you buy will fit your snap press. Here's a post about some questions I had about snap presses http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=306729

Basically, the OSDS Industrial dies and snaps are not compatible with anything else. (I use those, so does Changing Babies.) The OSDS regular dies and snaps ARE compatible with other brands, though they recommend getting a small sample and trying before a large order just to make sure.
