We are home!
All those pre-labour contractions did lead to something after all
. After 8.5 hours of 'real' labour, and 10 minutes of pushing, I gave birth to Melanie Kim.
Born: Thursday, 28 July, 10:31 pm (Swedish time)
weight: 8 lbs even
length: 19.3 inches (I think)
I'll post a birth story later, but in a nutshell I had the birth I was hoping for: in hospital, with just a midwife and nurse - no induction, no meds, no interventions, no major problems.
The only thing that didn't got to plan was that I once again tore into the back passage . I ended up getting a general anaesthetic and was sewn back together in the OR. Other than that, it was a textbook birth!
Recovery was a breeze compared to Tom's birth, and we actually went home on the bus today! (But not with the baby in the sling, because it was raining).
Little Mel latched on like a pro within an hour of birth, and has been breastfeeding like a champ ever since!
