My shorts are getting tight, too, but in the legs. I bought a Bella Band so that I can hopefully wear some of my capris and jeans a little longer. It just looks like a t-shirt peeking outfrom underneath your shirt, but it holds your pants on when they're unbuttoned. I am only nine weeks into my first pregnancy and I know I shouldn't be gaining much at first. I'm not eating that much food, because I'm nauseous, but since I feel sick alot, I can only tolerate certain foods, like hamburgers and burritos. I'm hoping when this sickness is over I can start eating normal again.
I did finally find a cool pair of maternity jeans last week. I wore them because they are comfortable, but I don't need them yet. They have a wide elastic waistband, but not a panel, and they were twenty bucks. I find I'm enjoying my maternity shirts already, too, just because they give me a little more "chest room" - I tend to wear my shirts tight. I went ahead and bought a few maternity items because my sister told me that she literally woke up one morning and couldn't fit her pants anymore. I live an hour away from any place that sells maternity clothes, so I thought I better get a few things now.
Nubianamy, you might try some cheaper stores that carry maternity clothes. I don't know if there are Ross or TJ Maxx stores where you live, but I found some cute stuff at Ross. My most expensive shirt was ten dollars, and they look cool. I can wear them now, when I'm not showing, and they still look good. Target seems to have decent maternity clothes, as well as Old Navy. The Motherhood mall chain looks like it has reasonable prices, too.
