yes, I totally get what your saying. Being religious and being spiritual are not one in the same. I think that many men find it easier to be religious than spiritual. But JMO.

I voted women, but I think men can be equally spiritual. I think we express it differently.

Or maybe it's that men don't express it nearly as much?

Yes BelovedBird, I do understand and I think I was trying to say the same thing in my posts. Religious, certianly does not always mean spiritual!

That's kind of how I feel... I also kind of feel that it's more acceptable in our society for women to explore spirtuality than it is for men.

But I voted that women are more spiritual just because in my experiences I have known WAY more spiritual women than spiritual men. Or at least *outwardly* spiritual I should say.

Obviosuly, one's view on this question depends on how you define "spiritual." But I think one difference between men and women allows women to be more spiritual, as I see it.

Part of being spiritual, to me, is the ability to relinquish some control to another, spiritual realm. A lot of this is mental control. One reason I am actively seeking to rekindle a spiritual connection is that I've been overwhelmed with the burden of worrying all the time. Worrying is not productive. If I can relinquish some of the control that goes along with worrying about the future, I can focus more on the activities and thought processes that are productive for me.

Because of women's position in society, I think it is easier for them to give up some control and to admit that they are not always in control. This is not a bad thing! I think it would be great if our society could encourage men to cultivate this ability.

I voted women. There is a greater innate connection to the spiritual.

In Judaism, women have a special connection to the moon. The new moon is one holiday on the Jewish calendar that is dedicated specifically for women, and I always found it interesting that women's connection to the moon is expressed in other cultures and traditions as well.
